Movie marathon

*Katie is 16*

I wake up with a jump as my teacher slams his hand on my desk. I hear sniggers around the room while I look up at him in a bad mood as he woke me up.

"Ms. Halstead. Am I boring you with my class that you had to sleep through it?"

Yes I want to say so badly but I don't. "Uh no. Sorry sir it won't happen again."

Satisfied with my answer he nods and turns back to the board to start writing again. This class drones on and on and I am just wishing for it to finish already. The bell finally rings and I basically run out the class to my locker. I grab my gum bag and make my way to the girls locker room to get ready for soccer practice.

The coach arrives and makes us all run laps. I double lap a couple people who are running really slow. We do drills before we play a game of scrimmage. By the time practice is done it's almost dark. I am full of sweat and really need a shower. I grab my bag and start walking home.

I'm about halfway home when I get a call from Hailey.

"Hey hails!"

"Hey kiddo! How was soccer practice?"

"Pretty good. He defiantly worked us harder than last time though."

She laughs a bit. "We'll I think that deserves a girls night don't you?"

"Ahh yes!! I haven't had a night with just the 2 of us in ages! My brother always steals you from me." I say jokingly.

"Hey! She's my girlfriend and your stealing her from me tonight!" I hear Jay yell from the background.

I laugh. "Oh suck it up Jay! I get her one night and you get her the rest."

He slowly agrees after thinking about it for a bit.

"I'll pick you up from your place in about an hour? We can go to mine, order food, do face masks and each others nails before having a movie marathon. How's that sound?"

"Like heaven!" I sigh.

"Alright then! See you in an hour." She says through laughs.

"Cya Hails! Bye Jay!" I say to him as I still hear him in the background.

"Cya squirt." I get back.

I hang up and smile. I need a night like this. School is stressing me out and with all my extra activities plus homework on top it's overwhelming. I arrive home and shower quickly before starting my math homework. I finish it and put it away just as I hear the front door open and hear Hailey and Jays voices.

"Katie! You ready to go?" I hear Hailey yell.

"Yeah! I'm coming!" I yell back and rush downstairs.

"Be good squirt! If I hear anything I can arrest you." Jay says with a wink as he ruffles my hair.

I swat his hand away and laugh quietly. "I know I know you tell me this every time I go anywhere."

"Just making sure you remember." He says before hugging me. "See you tonight!"

"Cya bro!" I say before walking out the door with Hailey. We arrive at her apartment which I had grown to fall in love with. It's so pretty. We order pizza right away and while we wait for it to come we do each others nails. Hailey wanted a lilac purple and I chose out a baby blue. They just finished drying when the doorbell rang telling us our pizza was here.

Hailey went and payed for the pizza before we settled down on the couch. I had picked out 2 face masks while she was paying and we applied them quickly laughing at each other when it got stuck in our hair.

We started eating our pizza.

"Holy shit I can never get tired of Chicago pizza." Hailey almost screams as she takes a bite.

I laugh at her. "I agree! The pizza we had when we went in our field trip to England, Ew never happening again. It tasted like absolute crap!"

She laughs. "Alright! What movies are we watching?"

I think for a minute. "Harry Potter marathon?"

"Ooo I haven't watched that in ages!" She quickly puts it on and we both get interested in the movie while eating our pizza.

"Oh my god! Malfoy is such a dick. My father will hear about this!" Hailey mimicks in a weird voice.

I burst out laughing while hiding my face in a pillow. "He may be a dick but he's a hot dick" We sit in silence for a minute before both of us are doubled over laughing our hearts out.

We keep laughing and making remarks about the characters losing track of time. By the time we're done Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban we look at the time and realize it's 12:30.

We both look at each other in shock at how fast time went by.

"Oops.." Hailey says while stifling a laugh. "I'll call Jay and tell him your gonna stay the night.

"Alright!" I reply with. At least it's Saturday tomorrow so I don't have to get up early for school.

She gets off the phone with Jay and we start Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I must've fallen asleep during the movie because I wake up in the morning to Hailey making breakfast for us.

"We'll good morning sleepy head!" She says with a soft smile on her face. She lifts my head up before sitting and setting it back down in her lap.

"Morning." I say in a groggy voice. "When did I fall asleep?"

"Around halfway through the movie. I'd say at around 1:15?"

I nod and yawn. She smiles and runs her fingers through my hair while I snuggle my head into her lap.

"You gonna go get ready so I can bring you home? Your brother has been texting me non stop asking if you were okay and if you needed a ride or anything."

I laugh. Of course Jay did that. "I'll go get ready right now."

I finish getting ready and we leave her apartment. We jam out to music as we're driving to my house.

We arrive and get out of the car walking into the house.

"Jay! Will! I'm home!" I shout as I don't see my brothers anywhere. They both come downstairs.

"Good morning shortstack." Will says while giving me a hug.

"Morning!" I say while pulling away and moving on to hug Jay. He hugs back.

"I assume you guys had fun and that's why you lost track of time?" He says with a smirk while looking between Hailey and I.

We smile back and laugh a little before nodding. "Yeah something like that.." I say with a chuckle.

My brothers look at us weirdly as we both laugh remembering our conversations from last night.

"I'm not even going to ask." Will says as he walks away.

This makes me laugh harder. I finally compose myself as Hailey gets ready to leave.

I run over to her and hug her tightly. "Thanks for last night Hails! I really needed that!"

"No problem kiddo! We need to do that more often!" She says happily.

I smile. "We really do!"

She walks out the door and closes the door. I turn around to see Jay standing there with a smile on his face while looking at me.

"What? Is something wrong?" I ask unsuredly.

"No! I'm just really happy that you 2 get along! I'm glad you like each other."

I smile. "What's not to like about me?" I say with a cocky grin while Jay chuckles. "Seriously though, I love Hailey Jay. You did good in choosing her! I'm happy for you 2."

Jay smiles and pulls me into a tight hug. I happily hug back and feel protected in his arms.
