Chapter Seven: Insecure

Grayson's POV

I sit rehearsal as Miss Jenn unpacks Gabrielle's phone from the movie, everyone marvels at it and I just sit there with a blank face, I can't real,t be excited about anything right now

I see NiNi come in and E.J pulls her close but I look away so I don't make myself more upset, Ricky was right I don't stand a chance against those two I mean what was I thinking

"Ok people enough dazzle fetch your scripts please"Miss Jen says, I get up and grab my script as everyone else does the same, I look over to my sister and see her looking at me

I give her a look and she just smiles at me sadly, I look back down and wait for Miss Jenn to direct us

Gina's POV

I look over to see E.J looking at NiNi's phone that I put in his bag while no one was looking, he turns back and mouths thank you to his cousin but I smile at his cluelessness

"Your welcome" I say causing him to turn around to look at me

He looks at me with an adorable confused face causing me to walk towards him

"We want the same thing so this is going to take some teamwork" I say deviously, he looks around and then back to me before smirking in understanding as I just walk away to my sister

Phase one is in motion

Grayson's POV (Time skip)

I sit on the side as I watch the dance crew do the number for stick to the status quo, I'm watching all the movements and then I smile as my sister comes out and dances on que, she makes me so proud

She finishes her number and I go to clap btu then NiNi walks in late, she starts rambling to Miss Jenn about how her phone got lost and she couldn't find it until she check the lost and found

I sigh as I look away from her as Miss Jenn tells her about us coming in for an early set

"Grayson's sweetheart, show Nini the new dance choreography"Miss Jenn says causing me to sigh and get up

I walk over to Nini and guide her over to the dance floor

"Ok just try and follow my lead ok, I'll go slow for you" I say dryly, she nods and I start the routine and she dies good at first but she messes up and I just sigh and we try again and gain but she just won't get it

"Oh my gosh take five" Carlos says causing me to just roll my eyes at Nini and go to my water bottle

"What is your problem today Grayson, your really impatient with me today" Nini says causing me to just look at her

"I'm giving you your space....you chose E.J" I say honestly, I'm not in the mood for this

"Ok well we discuss that a different time but can I ask you something" She says and I just nod

"My phone went missing and your sister just happens to schedule an early rehearsal" Nini says causing me to look at her

"Ok before you complete that sentence, my sister never had your phone ok she's not like that plus she doesn't want the lead anymore, not since I got the lead" I say causing Nini to sigh in frustration

"What now" I say looking at her

"It's just that I know I had my phone in my bag and then it shows up in the lost and found the next day like I know where I put my stuff and now I'm in the dog house with Miss Jenn for being late" She says frustratedly, I sigh and walk over to her

I lift head up with my fingers under her chin so she looks at me

"If you know you had it somewhere and your gut is telling you that someone did something hen go wit your gut" I say, I glance down at her lips before going back to her eyes and I see she's doing the same so I clear my throat and back away

Ricky walks over to us and I decide to take myself out of this situation

"Just go with your gut ok" I say before walking away with my water bottle

I can't do this right now

Time skip

I lay on my bed just scrolling through Instagram when suddenly a knock on my door takes me out of my haze

"Come in" I say as I shut my phone, the door opens and my mom walks in causing me to sit straight up

"Hey baby Umm. Can we talk" She says nervously, I nod and she walks in and sits in my bed

"Look sweetheart Ummm heard some information from some of the parents of the play your in and I wanna talk to you about it since you haven't told me much about to he play or what your part is" She says

"Oh well I play the lead but what are the parents worried about" I say being vague

"Well they keep talking about two girls playing the lead and I wanted to se if that was truly the case which it seems as so" My mom says, I freeze in place I start to remember the parents and how theory react, especially with my condition

"Well um are you ok with it" I say nervously

"Yea I am and if you get a girlfriend out of it then great" She says catching me off guard

"What" I say in a small voice

"Baby I know your gay, I've had a feeling for a long time and Well when you were bored there was always the possibility of you getting a girlfriend instead of a boyfriend and Well when you turned 12 and denied the surgery and your father left I just knew that you'd be yourself and I accept you" My mom says causing me to smile

I hug her tightly and she does the same before we pull away

"Well I kinda like a girl right now but I she has two other suitors that would be better for her" I say sadly, my mom raises my head with her fingers so that I'm looking at her

"Baby you are an amazing person and you care about people deeply no matter if you just met them or not so even if she has two people that would b best for her....doesn't mean you can't be the best out of all of the and if she picks them then you know your Greta and anyone would be lucky to have you, confidence is key" She says

"Thanks mom, i needed that" I say genuinely, she smiles and says that she's making dinner soon and I lay back on my bed and think about what she said

I am great.....confidence is key and if I want Nini ima need a lot

A/n ok well the story is brewing and ima take that advice because I need it and Well y'all should too but anyways I need to eat so let's see if I go do that I I stay and write more
