Chapter Nine: Trust issues

Grayson's POV

I clean the blood off my shirt in the bathroom and shake my head at the fact that E.J is that pissed over basically nothing, I sigh and put on somewhere else before putting ,y hoodie on when the door opens

I look over to see Kourtney standing there, I sigh and turn towards her

"You good Grayson" She says as she walks towards me and examines my face

"I'm good, my lip is sore but other than that I'm fine....thanks" I say as I look back in the mirror

"How did this happen" She asks as she rubs my back

"Well E.J and I had to do some lines together and we were stiff so Miss Jen put us up to doing some improv with a basketball, things got tense and as you can see....it didn't go well" I say and Kourtney scoffs

"That jerk.....I knew NiNi should have picked......I mean don't let him bother you, he's just upset that NiNi and you are close that's all...I'll see you later" Kourtney says, I give her a skeptical look as she leaves the bathroom

Was she about to say NiNi should have picked me....

Grayson's outfit for the half of the chapter^^

I walk out into the hallway to see Ricky quickly making his way out of the bathroom and down the hall.....ok weird

I walk out of the school and to the bench to wait for my sister, I got to text NiNi about what happened with E.J when suddenly I hear yelling behind me causing me to turn around

"Hey" Ricky says as NiNi walks out, I get up and walk over to her and make it to her just as Ricky does

"Hey Grayson omg what happened to your face .....hi Ricky" NiNi says awkwardly as she looks at me concerned and acknowledges Ricky

"Hey I was just about to text you....your boyfriend is an asshole and he hit me with a basketball" I say and NiNi gasp and runs her finger on my lip causing me to look at her and smile a bit

"Im ok....Ricky why do you seem so freaked out" I tell NiNi as I move her hand and hold it unknowingly, I turn to Ricky who's looking in between us awkwardly before looking at NiNi fully

"Look I know we're not a couple anymore, I get that and you made that very clear but I thought there was a little trust left between us, you know that I still meant something to you" He says causing me to look at him weird

"Bro chill out, what did she even do" I say say but he ignores me

"Look Ricky I can't do this right now" NiNi says

"Fine ok but the next time I spill my guts out to you in a voicemail, do me a favor and keep it to yourself" He says defeatedly, I raise my eyebrow at him  and look at NiNi, what voicemail

I don't need to be hearing from E.J that it's wrong and stupid" He says and i see NiNi looks really confused

"Wait what voicemail" She says and my mind instantly goes back to when E.J angrily took her phone

"Wait NiNi didn't you think someone took your phone" I say and she looks at me and then back to a confused Ricky

"What do you mean" He says

"You heard this from E.J" She says and I can tell she's getting upset, my brain connects the dots and I look over to E.J who's glaring at me already but soon his face changes and he smiles

That son of a bitch took her phone and went through it

I walk in school with my sister as we head down the hall to the theatre room, I look over and see NiNi and E.J talking causing me to shake my head at them

"Grayson don't stare ok....you'll have your chance" Gina says as we pass them, my eyes connect with NiNi and she sends me a small smile which I return before turning my head forward

"What do you mean I'll have my chance" I say confused, I look over to see her smirking and i already know it's not good

"Oh no what did you do" I say as I pull her away from the growing scene with E.J and NiNi

"I may or may not have given you a leg up with NiNi by helping her boyfriend steal her phone" Gina says causing my eyes to widen

"Gina, why would you do that I could have done it myself" I say as I look around us to make sure none of the other people hear us

"I knew you were not going to make a move and plus....he was looking for it anyway so it's off my hands and he's still at fault for going through it" She says and I sigh

"Still not right.....but I can't change that now...but I can't be help but feel this has two motives" I say causing her to look at me weird

"What do you mean" She says nervously, got her

"I know you like E.J as well and don't deny it...I see how you look at him" I say and I see a blush creep up on her face

"Ok I may have done it for me too but in my defense he still did the deed" She says and I laugh at her trying to defend her actions, I look over to see E.J looking very upset and NiNi looking irritated

I go to walk into the room but Carlos stops me and NiNi and E.J decides to stay back

"Miss Jen said that we're doing the Troy and Gabriella duet....your on......besties" He says slowly at the end and walking to the room, I look at NiNi who's looking at me with a smile, I return it before looking at E.J with a glare

I walk in and put my stuff down and sit in one of the chairs and NiNi sits next to me, I take a deep breath as I know she's still with E.J but I know he doesn't deserve her, I decide to be bold and take her hand into mine

I feel her tense before relaxing in my touch, I look over to her and she's already looking at me with an unreasonable look, I just smirk and look to my sister who's giving me a thumbs up causing me to laugh

E.J's on thin ice....I finally have a chance

Suddenly I feel my phone vibrate causing me to let go of NiNi's hand can reach in my pocket, I take my phone out to see a number I don't know texted me

I open the text and my heart drops as I read it

Xxx-xxx-xxxx- Hey Grayson dear it's dad, I'm sorry that I haven't reached out and I was wondering if it's ok if we meet up and talk....don't tell Gina and mom ok, just us like old times at the ice cream shop❤️

My heart beat quickens as I shut my phone and look ahead mindlessly

My dad wants to talk after leaving....what do I do

A/n ok well this chapter went well and I'm happy to have updated this and caught this up now, I hope y'all liked it
