Grayson's POV
I walk into Red's house with Gina, NiNi and Kourtney, this seems to be some type of theater party I guess which is cool
Alexa and I had fun but I've decided to just relax with that moving on stuff from NiNi, I'll just worry about myself especially with this play stuff being at the place it is and my parents who said they'll just put our dinner in the fridge
Which Gina was more than happy with
I walk down the stairs to see Ricky and Red along with some of the dancers, I see everyone gradually coming in as I sit down on the couch confused
We sit in the basement quietly as no one knows what to say, I however am staring at my sister he's sitting next to Ricky instead of me
I watch them carefully as our stage manager breaks the silence
"This party sucks, there's no pretzels" She says causing me to chuckle a bit
"We all are here in the same basement on a very bad day so someone should say something" Ashlyn says and I sigh
"Fine I'll say something, I'm mad at Miss Jen" Carlos says causing all of us to look at him confused
"What...why..because she got a couple skeletons in her closet" Gina says
"No...because she's giving up...she was the first teacher to not see me as a punchline and now she's not even a real teacher" Carlos says sadly
"Define real teacher" Ashlyn says
"He's got a point" Kourtney says and our stage manager disagrees and Red tries to defuse he situation
"So why are we all here then" Our stage manger asks
"Yea good question...this is a waste of time" EJ says frustratedly
"Honestly...because she gave me a shot...and it's been a long time since someone gave me a shot" Carlos says sorrowful
"She gave me a voice" NiNi says sadly
"Yea and now no one's gonna get to hear it because Miss Jenn screwed up" Kourtney says irritatedly
"Ok...does anyone actually care if her past is a little bit sketchy....anyone" I say and everyone thinks for a second
"I do" Ricky says causing me to look at him confused
"Really dude" Red says
"Yea because you live some perfect life" Kourtney says
"Not at all....because she put our show in jeopardy...and now we're all here maybe for the last time together.....and for some of us...this has become...idk" Ricky says and I nod
"I agree......I've met some cool people through this show....my sister and I were the new kids in school and we got to make friends quickly which never happens....I met an amazing person out of it....and while i don't care about her secrets.....I do care about...everyone here....even EJ and Ricky" I say sincerely and I see everyone smile
My gaze remains on NiNi who smiles at me genuinely as I give her one back
"We're.....family" She says looking away from me and I do the same
"What team" I say quietly
"Wildcats" everyone says in low voices
"Ok wildcats...so what are we doing about it" Ashlyn asks and I smirk
"I know just the thing" I say as everyone looks at me curiously
Time skip
I adjust my hair as I listen to the board of education talk to Miss Jenn, I look over to seen my mom and dad talking and smiling to each other
My dad makes a face as he jokes causing my mom to put her hand over her mouth as she laughs silently, I feel my stomach fill with butterflies and my heart melt as the sight
I haven't seen my mom smile like that in so long, not since my father left
I look over to my sister who looks upset at the sight, I nudge her as Ricky's dad stands up to talk to the board
"What?" Gina asks confused
"Why do you not want them to be happy...I haven't seen mom smile like that in years" I say quietly
"Because he can't just come back and expect things to be like how it was before...you and mom need to realize that...we're better without him" Gina says catching me off guard
"Gina.....look I understand I mean I'm part of why he left but....aren't you tired of hating him though" I ask and Gina just shakes her head and looks away from me
"You won't understand" She says and I scoff
"Of course I would....I know you guys were close but what is it that's holding you back" I say and she sighs
"Talk about this later...we have bigger fish to fry" Gina says and I nod and just sit back
I feel a hand on mine causing me to look over and see NiNi's hand there, I look at her and smile as she smiles back
"You ok...." She asks and I nod
"Yea...family stuff" I say and she just nods and leaves it which I appreciate, the song starts causing me to smile and stand up
Show time
I point to Kourtney as she starts to sing her lines and NiNi and Ashlyn do the same
(Grayson sings some of Ricky's parts in this scene and dances as well and dances with NiNi and Gina)
I stand next to Miss Jenn and pull her into a side hug as the board calls the meeting off, I smile and cheer before turning to NiNi and hugging her as I pick her up off the floor
"We did it" She says causing me to smile
"I know...we got her to stay...now...show can go on again" I say and NiNi smiles widely as I do the same
We stare at each other for a bit till I feel hands in my shoulders causing me to turn and see my parents behind me
"So this is NiNi I see....nice to meet you sweetheart" My Mom says and NiNi smile and they shake hands
"Nice to meet you NiNi...Grayson here won't shut up about you...her Gabriella" My dad says causing a bright blush to come up in my cheeks as they both tease me like they used to
"Guys....please' I beg causing them to laugh along with NiNi
"Nice to meet you both and...she's definitely my Troy" NiNi says as she cuddles into my arm and I smile even more
"Well now that your teacher has been saved...we'll go find your sister while you stay with...your Gabriella" My Mom says dramatically causing me to laugh and push them both away with them making kissing noises
"So....I'm your Gabriella" Nini says and I let out a small laugh and duck my head
"Well....I'd hopes so....at some point" I say causing her to look at me with a shocked expression
"Wait but I-I thought..." NiNi goes to say but I cut her off
"I know...and I'm still not looking to date you right now...not till you decide who you want" I say causing her to smile
"What if I've already decided" She says causing me to almost snap my neck as I look at her to see a wide smile on her face
"What!" I say shocked and a smile playing on my lips
"I wanna be with you Grayson....I've chosen you" She says causing me to smile with happiness
She chose me...SHE CHOSE ME
