Ricky cashes in on a favor that Nini owes him after she accidentally ruins something precious to him, but is this favor really worth it?
Nina laid on her bed working on homework when she heard the doorbell ring. She knew immediately it was Ricky so she took her glasses off and placed them on her dresser. She straightened her hair out slightly in the mirror before she went to answer the door that indeed held Ricky Bowen behind it.
"Hey Nina" Ricky smiled
"Uh Hey Ricky, come on in" Nina moved out the way, and the boy walked in
As he walked in he looked around noticing the several pictures of Nina when she was younger on the wall. It was obvious that her parents took pictures of her for just about every event that she had in her life.
"Oh is that Gina?"Ricky asked looking at one of the pictures.
It was when Nina, Gina, and Ashlyn planned a movie night all by themselves at the age of 9.
"Oh. Yeah, we used to be best friends. Inseparable even" Nina stood next to Ricky looking at the picture. It made her sad to think that they let the friendship go so fast, and easy.
"What happened?"
"Well we got to high school, and she became captain of the dance team so she was always with them instead of me and Ashlyn. She tried to make it work but things went bad when she started dating..."
"Me" Ricky finished the girl's sentence, and kept his eyes on the floor. He honestly felt bad
"It's not your fault Ricky. Things weren't working out before you even came into the picture." Nina reassured him.
"Yeah but—"
"But nothing Ricky. If it wasn't you that made it fully break off it probably would've been something else. The friendship was on its last leg"
"I just find it crazy that you guys were that you guys were so close. She never talks about you guys, and when we're in the hallway you guys pass each other as if you don't know each other"
"Sad isn't it" was all Nina could think to say. There wasn't really an explanation for it other than the fact that the girls simply drifted away.
"You ready to get started" she changed that subject not wanting to talk about Gina anymore."Uh yeah, I guess so". He stuck his hands in his pockets
"Great! Follow me" Nina said before leading the boy up the stairs and into her room. "Shall we get started?" Nina got comfortable on her bed with her notebook and a pen in her hand.
"Have you thought about any rules?" Nina asked him
"Actually I have. Just a few. I want to do nicknames for each other. Something that only I call you, and only you call me"
