nini hides her feelings for her best friend ricky bowen, but when she's ready to tell him she fears it's too late

nini woke up the next morning, stretching out of instinct. she yawned slightly before wiping her eyes, and receiving a clearer view of her surroundings.
that's when she noticed that the room she was in was unfamiliar. this definitely wasn't her room. her heartbeat began to pick up as she took in just about every detail of the room that surrounded her.
the events from the night before swirled around in her mind,and she looked to her right to see ricky peacefully sleeping right next to her.
she tried to ignore how loud her heart was beating, and the way palms had become sweaty in nervousness.
nini looked at her phone, and her eyes widened when she saw what time it was.
"shoot" she muttered lowly as she rushed out of the bed, trying to find everything that belonged to her so that she could get out of ricky's house fast.
there was no way nini was going to be able to walk into the office wearing the same clothes she had on last night, so she rushed back to her place to get herself together

"have you seen nini?" gina asked jane, the receptionist at their office
"you can check her office" jane told the curly haired girl, pointing in the direction of nini's work office.
gina thanked the girl before heading in the direction of nini's office. when she finally reached the office, she knocked on the door, and stuck her head in looking both ways for any indication that her friend was in there.
"hm" gina turned around to leave the girl's office, but as she was leaving, nini was coming in struggling to carry all her bags and out of breath
"hey gi" nini said tiredly, sitting all her things down in her office. "you need something?"
gina raised an eyebrow, noticing how the girl was acting...different
"you're late...you're never late, what's going on?"
nini contemplated for a second whether she should tell the girl about ricky or not.
she felt this panging in her heart that could only be described as guilt. despite the fact that both of them were in a vulnerable situation, ricky was still married to lily.
"nothing, i guess i was just really tired" nini chuckled nervously, deciding not to tell gina about the situation at hand. maybe she would later but at the moment she decided against it.
"okay, well i guess i'll see you later" gina walked out of the office skeptically
