"oh look at that one! it's shaped like a heart" nini pointed up at the stars. her head resting on ricky's chest, as he held onto her comfortably.
the two of them sat on the most comfortable picnic blanket that nini owned, she she laid between his legs.
"no it doesn't" ricky laughed
"it does if you squint really hard. you've gotta have an imagination to see it babe" she told him
"you know what i imagine when i look up at the stars?" ricky asked
"what?"
"being able to freeze this moment in time. to stay here, with you. forever. i imagine that everything is carefree and all i have to worry about is how i could possibly love you more than i already do." ricky told the girl before placing a kiss on the top of her head and planting his eyes back on the stars that sat in front of him
"really?" nini turned around slightly so that she was face to face with the boy. there was a gleam in her eye that was full of hope. hope that she has found the one so early on in her life.
"yes" he tucked her hair behind her ear "i want more than anything to spend forever with you. you're it for me nini. and i promise you that i'm gonna do everything in my power to make sure that we make it there. to forever"
"i love you so much" she smiled, and he planted a quick delicate kiss on her lips

"nini?" gina pushed her shopping cart towards the brunette girl she hasn't seen in what felt like a lifetime.
nini turned around, with a pitcher of juice in her hand at the sound of her name. when gina's eyes caught glimpse of the girl's face her heart dropped
"nini oh my god" she pulled nini into a hug out of instinct
the two girls were inseparable as teenagers. they were the best friend duo that everyone predicted would last well beyond high school, but it didn't.
