Sumiko POV

"What do you mean 'lose their footing'?" I asked then unaware of my presence. I placed down the baggage's on the floor.

"Whaaa, Sumi-chan you don't know?"

"That's a lot of baggage!"

"They're all presents for Koinatsu-oiran." I told them.

"So when we say 'lose their footing' it means running away from here without paying you depts." the girl with stripped ribbon said. She paused for a second before continuing.

"If they find you, bad things will happen." she continued.

"Oh I see..." I whispered.

"They say some also ran away with their loved ones."

"Even a few days ago, Suma-oiran." the girl with black ribbon said. Wait- Suma! That's Uzui-san's wife... I was about to asked them but the door opened.

"Stop spreading these rumors. Nobody really knows... Whether they really ran away or not." the Koinatsu-oiran said.

"Okay." the girl in stripped ribbon said.

"Come. Thank you for carrying these." Koinatsu-oiran said to be. I quickly walk towards her. She pulled out something from her and gave me one.

"I'll give you some candy. You can eat it alone in secret." she told me placing one candy on my hands.

"I want some too!"

"Oiran! Oiran!"

"No, you just ate awhile ago, right?" Koinatsu-oiran said that made the two girls whine more.

"Uhm... Did 'Suma' oiran really loser her footing?" I asked her. She seems surprised that I asked her about it.

"Why are you asking me that?" she asked me. I have to ask her about this well... She's being vigilant...

"Because she's... she's... my big sister." I lied to them trying to make a straight face. When your honest most of the time it hurts me when I'm lying. I can't even make a straight face because of it.

"And you were sold here after your sister was?" Koinatsu-oiran asked me.

"Y-Yes. We were constantly exchanging letters. She shouldn't be losing her footing here..." I told her totally lying.

"Oh is that so... I honestly never thought Suma-chan would lose her footing either. She was a very gusty girl." she started explaining.

"She never acted conceited with the boys. But we found her diary... and she said that she lost her footing in it. I haven't heard of her getting caught, so it'd be nice if she manage to escape." she continued. Losing you footing is dangerous here huh? I hope that she's safe... We'll save you no matter what, Suma-san!!

Inosuke POV

"I wonder if Maiko-san is okay?"

"She locked herself in her room and hasn't come out."

"She said she wasn't feeling fine but she isn't going to the doctor... The mistress might drag her out soon."

"I brought her some food now but I just left it in front of her room." Makio! Uzui's wife. I finally heard her name. Not feeling good... So is that the only reason why she stopped contacting? I'll try it out.

I'll go check her room but it's hot! I wanna strip! I wanna strip!! If I wear these, my senses will naturally get duller!! I can't even talk because of my voice being deep. I came near her room but it felt so weird. Is she in a bad situation now? I can't tell. That is her room, it feels disgustingly weird. I quickly ran to her room and opened the door.
