August 16th.

5:34 am

You were wearing a black hoodie yet your slightly curly jet black hair manages to puff out of it.

I found you very attractive,

especially when you had a genuine smile on your face.

But other than admiring how you look, I was quite envious of you.

How could you smile that bright so early in the morning?

How could you have a demeanour so happy and contented that it was able to get my eyes off of the beautiful horizon?

I continued to admire you from afar, until your phone rang from your hoodie's pocket,

stealing both my attention and yours.

You picked it up, and your smile faltered.

I subconsciously frowned,

seeing how quick you lost the sparkle in your eyes.

I was near enough to see your reaction,

but far away enough to not hear anything that escaped your lips.

Your once shining eyes turned into dull ones,

the curve of your lips went upside down,

and your bright demeanour quickly became something that radiated negativity.

Your eyebrows were knitted,

and veins were popping out of your neck,

as if you were trying hard not to burst out of anger.

In a span of a few minutes,

you hang up.

and heaved a sigh as soon as you put your phone down.

Your angered face softened,

and it soon turned into a sad one.

I was a little curious about what you just went through.

What did you hear on the opposite line that it made your optimism disappear in an instant?

Though I was curious,

I tried my hardest to shrug it off.

Because even if you piqued my interest, I am in no position to be nosy about your circumstances.

I just went on an attempt to find something else to entertain my eyes.

But to no avail,

my eyes found yours.
