August 22nd.

12:06 pm

I don't know what was happening,

but everything went slow,

your face became brighter than anything,

and your gaze made me stone hard to my seat.

"Hi." You greeted me with the most blinding smile.

I was startled at your sudden entrance.

And my lips didn't bother to open.

Perhaps I was too surprised that you— a stranger— would talk to me about my voice,

but maybe I was too starstruck at your handsomeness.

Especially when I noticed your doe eyes,

They are indeed charming.

"...Do you need anything?"

I tried to be as kind as possible, because I didn't want to seem rude.

Yet no matter how much I tried to look nice, my words still came out sharp and harsh.

I'm sorry, I must've scared you on our first meeting.

Just know that I internally winced the moment those four words left my stupid mouth.

"I probably sound like a creep, don't I?"

Your light chuckle sent butterflies to my stomach,

and I didn't know whether I should be alert around you,

because that feeling is too new for me to acknowledge.

"It's just that— I just saw you sitting here alone, and thought that maybe I could give you some company. well, you look... sad."

Why?

Why would you have to be such an angel?

Why do you have to be concerned about a stranger getting sad?

I was so sure that I sounded rude, but there you are,

still smiling so widely at me.

Although I am very picky with who I talk to, your smile was so trusting that I found myself getting comfortable with you in just a span of seconds.

"I just have to say it again, your voice is angelic. You would be a great vocalist."

You giggled at your own statement, and I actually did too.

Your eyes sparkled in enthusiasm, and I honestly have never seen a pair of doe eyes being as sparkly as yours.

"Thank you for the compliment, but I don't sing anymore."

I smiled sadly.
