After some time passed, we decided the best course of action to take for me to meet Ink again was…to let him stumble upon me first. Yes, I’ll admit we’re not the most intuitive type of group. Nightmare and his gang had relied mostly on me to warn them ahead of time when Ink would appear. It worked for a while since the plan was so simple.

Geno looked at us like we were idiots. Can’t blame him though, I thought the same too. For now, we decided to focus on Geno’s new job. It took us about a week for us to come up with a somewhat good plan and now we’re just about to show him the start.

I opened a portal to Horrortale. Nightmare agreed that if everyone went, no doubt Ink would find them more easily. He decided to distract Ink by going to other aus and messing with them. So, I’m in charge of showing Geno the ropes since no-one can sense me as easily. As soon as we step into the au, I can feel Geno tense up. He looks around, not sure what is off.

“Error, why does this place feel weird? I mean, my magic feels…wrong.” Geno asks, rubbing his scarf.

I lower my hat to hide my expression. “…It’s because of the lack of magic in the air.” He looks confused at this. “…Look, I don’t think it’s my place to say anything. But I will tell you this, the core here doesn’t work.”

His eyes widened at that. And I quickly motion for him to follow me. We arrive at Snowdin. All the monsters from there look at us as we make our way to Grillby’s. Their disheveled appearance and bloodied clothing leave not much to the imagination. Dust blows through the redden underground. Looking very close to snow.

Geno frowns at this, at everything. What was he expecting from another au? I’ll never know. Perhaps he was still hoping for a world where there wasn’t much suffering. One where monsters could finally live-in peace. I’ll never understand why Ink decided to create these sad aus in the first place. All I know is that it was needed for the balance between Negativity and Positivity. Whether he knew that or not.

Arriving at the entrance of Grillby’s, I pause in my footsteps. Placing one hand upon the door handle, I sigh in defeat.

“…Geno…” I start. “…Please, prepare yourself for what you are about to see. Understand that pity means nothing.” I warn, lowering my voice as much as I can.

I can feel him stare at me. It was the first time he heard me sound so intimidating. He whispers ‘understood’ as I open the door.

“Hey, Grillby! It’s me, Error! Horror told you that I’d be arriving today. Did you set up the station?” I ask, giving Grillby a smile. Geno follows behind me, cautious, somewhat. Grillby turns around, and I hear Geno breath in and pause. He quickly covers it up though and proceeds as normal.

I walk towards one of the tall stools and struggle to sit on it. Geno picks me up, and places me onto the seat as he sits down as well. I cough in embarrassment then continue as normal. Grillby’s deformed face stares at us, forever burning him alive. I can only imagine how much pain he is enduring.

“You’re not looking so well there. Here, let me help a bit.” I say, waving my hand. Some of my magic seeps into the air. Grillby’s shoulders relax, somewhat. I smile. “Good, so where is the station?”

He walks towards the back. I feel myself stupid for sitting down. I quickly follow as he motions for us to follow. When we enter the back of the room, I observe the empty space he made for today. I nod in approval.

“Is this where we’ll be placing the boxes of food?” Geno asks. I nod. But he looks somewhat confused. “…Why not just place them outside? That way, everyone can just pick up the boxes and take them home?”

“It’s not that simple.” I mumble. “It’s for the protection of the monsters.”

“Eh?”

“Think about it. If we started to place all the food outside, then everyone would scurry to take it. We won’t know how many will get hurt in the process. Monsters in this au can’t heal like other au can. It’s risking their very lives.”

“I see…” Geno nods in understanding. I walk to the middle of the room and stand there. I look around for a bit as I adjust my glasses.

“Step back for a bit please, I don’t want to accidently hurt anyone.” I warn, stretching my arms. They take a step back. Suddenly, I shoot out my strings. The cover the entirety of the room. I open a portal to an au which will come in handy for this.

On the other side of the portal. I could see Toriel and Frisk with their Sans placing down boxes full of food. They stop when they see the portal. I then shoot out one string into the portal, leaving everyone confused at my actions. Then I close the portal again.

Geno stares at me, unsure of what I did. “…Why’d you close the portal? We were supposed to get the food and start placing them inside the room.”

“Lift the string.” I say, pointing at the one on the floor. Geno shrugs and walks to do it.

“This is…!” Geno’s eye widens in amazement when he opens the portal up again into Farmtale. He turns to look at me, wanting an explanation.

I smile as I begin to explain that by leaving my string connected to another from a different au, I could technically leave a permanent portal without messing up the au’s code. I once did this accidently when running away from an au before Ink came. I left a string inside the king’s throne room after forgetting to deactivate it. It stayed there until I deactivated it again.

“That way, you can open the portal yourself to Farmtale to get food when Nightmare or I am not around. Since you have yet to master creating portals yourself, I thought it best to do this for you for the time being.” I adjust my hat.

Geno nods, and we enter into the au. The Sans of this au greets us.

“Heya, the name’s Sans. But you can call me Farmer instead. You two must be Error and Geno, correct?” Farmer asks.

“Yes, that’s us. Is that the supplies we asked for over there?” I ask, pointing at behind Toriel and Frisk.

“It sure is. So where do you want them shipped to?” He asks.

“Just across that portal. You can place them inside the room. After that, I’ll give you the G.” I say, pointing at the entrance.

“There’s no need for you to pay us dearly. We want to help those who can’t feed themselves.” Toriel chimes in as Frisk nods in agreement. I rub the back of my neck, embarrassed.

“I know, but it just feels wrong to leech off of you like this. Please, accept the payment. It’s not like I’d use the G for anything anyways.” I say, hoping they’d agree.

They don’t try to push it forward, and procced to carry the boxes. Geno and I help assist in moving them into the room as well. After the last box is placed down, I give Farmer the G and bid them a due. Now, all Geno, Grillby, and I have to do is start distributing the food to everyone.
