Chapter 34: Why Has This Happened?

-Geno's POV-

I had one job, one job, and I failed to keep even that. Hasn't even been a full day and Blue is already trying to persuade Dream to help. Even if he hasn't revealed anything about Nightmare, he is very insistent on bringing Ink back to the base.

I can see Dream staring at Blue, his expression unknown. But the more time that passes, the more worried I become. Fell is also in the room, listening to what Blue is saying. Unlike Dream, Fell is like an open book. He looks pissed. I begin to shiver. 

"And that's why I think we should find Ink. Maybe we can teach him to be a better person?" Blue asks while smiling. Perhaps he's refusing to acknowledge the atmosphere. I'm just glad he hasn't said anything that could be linked to me.

"Blue...I understand that you must miss Ink...but he's on vacation. He'll be back soon. It's not like he won't come back." Dream states, giving Blue a small smile. 

Blue frowns. He slumps onto his chair, arms crossed. "You're not listening. We need to bring him back. He hasn't been acting great and I want to be there to cheer him up! Maybe then he'll feel better." Although I know what he's trying to do, I don't think it will work. And he needs to calm down, Fell is looking even more pissed. 

"Please, Blue...you're acting strange. Why now do you want to bring Ink back? Did something happen while we were training?" Dream asks, glancing at me. I flinch at that, trying to calm my emotions down. 

"Nothing happened, I was just thinking Ink needed to learn more. It looks to me like he doesn't know much about common sense. and I want to be the one to teach him that." Blue states, smiling. 

"Are you sure, you looked happier when he wasn't here? What are you hiding bubblegum?" Fell asks, standing up. He walks towards Blue and bends down to stare him down. The situation is getting worse, I need to do something quick!

"Guys! Blue must be feeling tired. Today's training was much more intense than usual after all. I think he should go to bed!" I say, powerwalking to Blue and going to grab his shoulder. But before I could, Fell grabs my arm. 

"No need, I want to hear more of what little Blue has to say." Fell smiles. I glance at Blue with a strained smile. I hope he gets the message to leave soon. 

"There isn't anything that I am hiding Fell, I don't know where you and Dream are getting such an idea from?" Blue says with his usual smile. To me, it sounded as if he was provoking Fell. But he wouldn't do that...right? 

"You tell me? You looked so adamant about bringing back your boss. So tell me..." Fell clutches my arm, I jolt from the pain. "...who is giving you such an idea?"

"Why would you assume I am not just asking because I care for Ink but that someone could be giving me the idea? You make me sound as if I am supposed to be stupid and listen all the time." Blue states, still keeping his smile. Dream's mouth twitches. From what? I am unsure. 

Fell continues to glare down at Blue, trying to intimidate him. When Blue doesn't react, he tsks and lets go of my arm. 

"So why bring up the subject of Ink and about rehabilitating him?" Fell asks. 

Blue's smile drops. He sure knows how to control his emotions. "...It's just that when thinking about everything he has done for a while now, I can't remember a lot of happy times. I want to help him become better because he reminds me of my Temmie at my au."

Dream seems to be thinking about that. But Fell is unknown at the moment, just his usual glare. I look at my arm, wondering why he clutched it. Why does he seem so keen on hurting me out of these two? Perhaps...he knows I'm not fully a part of the team...? No, I must be overthinking it. 

"Oh Blue, I understand you want to be a good friend, but let's not waste time. Let's get down to business, shall we?" Fell states. 

Without warning, he shoots bones in my direction. I dodge them on instinct. I look up at him, shocked. Dream also brings out his bow, aiming it at Blue. He looks reluctant, but stills stare at Blue. Why are they...?

"I've known for a while now that you, Geno, were a spy. I just didn't think you'd try to drag Blue into the mix. Now, look at what has happened. You got Blue to become brainwashed from Nightmare as well." Fell states, teleporting in front of me and punching me in my gut. I fly into a wall.

"GENO!" I hear Blue shout. Opening my eyes, I see Fell walking towards me slowly. His eye-light is already in attack mode. I can see Blue dodging arrows being shot by Dream as Dream pulls out handcuffs. 

I stand up, already somewhat used to Fell punching me. I glare at him as he smirks. He motions with his hands for me to come at him. Summoning bones, I charge at him. He blocks it using his own. 

The clashing of bones vibrates the air around us. Creating a spark from each hit that is met. As much as I want to see how Blue is doing, I have to focus here. But the occasional arrow being shot lets me know Blue is still fine. I sense a change in Fell's attack. And I quickly prepare for it.

I take a step back, just missing an uppercut to the chin by a centimeter. Fell grins at that, causing me to become confused. Suddenly, I feel bones shoot up from the ground. Attacking my very soul. Looking at the color, I realize it's blue. One where I have to stand still. Without giving me a moment to rest, Fell also summons Gaster Blasters. I summon my own to counter his as I painfully leave the blue bones. 

I quickly teleport to Fell, activating my blue magic and slamming him down onto the floor. Quickly summoning my blue magic and throwing my normal bones. Fell kicks them away, causing me to flinch. That must have hurt. He hops out from my blue bones, activating his blue magic and pulling me forward. 

Our bones clash once more. From behind me, I can sense an arrow coming my way. I quickly teleport away. Looking back, I see Blue has been handcuffed. He looks at me with an apologetic face. I nervously realized I'm up against two people now. I have to leave!

Dream dashes towards me, his bow now two blades. Fell also dashes towards me with his bones. I activate a portal underneath me, falling through it and quickly closing it. Why has this happened?
