-Nightmare's POV-
"Greetings Blue, good to see you're considering joining us." I open up as Blue steps through the portal. Geno had just told me he was bringing Blue with him when I visited his dream last night. I spent a lot of time sorting through everything so that he feels welcome.
I can feel Blue's shift in emotions. Seems he isn't fully convinced about joining me. I'll have to change his mind first. Geno closes the portal behind him, making sure that no one saw from his end. It's only been four days since we could make our plan work. Cross stands near, on his guard. He wasn't too keen on bringing enemies into our territory. So he's watching Blue to make sure he isn't acting suspicious. Stupid if you ask me, I can read his emotions after all. I guess it's because he feels like he failed in protecting Error.
"Allow me to give you a tour through our grand establishment," I say while leading the walk. We walk by my gang who are all working on paperwork in trying to figure out a plausible number of aus that might be willing to join us. Although we have recruited beings, not many are patient.
I begin to tell Blue about all the things my group and I are doing. Saving the stuff about Error for later. To bring up a heavy subject, the person must be willing to listen. That's what Error used to say.
We stop by the kitchen, and although I have no need to eat, I still do it. "You must be hungry after such a long tour, let's take a break. Horror!"
Horror pops up in the kitchen and proceeds to begin cooking. I lead Blue to the table while Geno sits by him just so that he can feel more comfortable. I can feel Blue's still uncomfortable, having his guard up. What can I do to make him more comfortable? Perhaps...
"I know you haven't spoken much today. You must be full of questions. Go ahead and ask, it's not like I'll kill you."
For some reason, Geno stares at me with a 'are you stupid?' look. I find that annoying but I don't voice out my concern. Blue takes a deep breath before speaking.
"Geno has told me a lot about what you guys do and why you are doing it. But I want to know why you and Dream can't seem to get along. And why would you think Ink took your friend?"
Ah, I guess little Blue is impatient. But...I glare at Geno as if to ask why he would know that Dream and I were brothers. He shakes his head in defeat, not understanding the problem. But I realized that of course, Blue would know he and I were brothers. How many times has that lightbulb said it out loud in battle? I guess I don't want to acknowledge it.
My mood drops noticeably. Geno tenses up as Blue stares at me without a change in his emotions. I'm reminded once again just how powerful these Papyrus-like beings are. Able to stare death in its face even when it could die. Makes me wish I had a Papyrus brother instead. Maybe then I'd understand what's so great about having a brother. Error is a close second. Having that naive look in life. If she were just a little more cautious, that would be great. But then she and I would have never become friends.
"...Ah yes...that...brother of mine...sorry, but I find that to be none of your business. And about why I think Ink took Error? It's simple really. He left this journal entry at your last base. Have a quick read so that maybe you can understand the severity of the situation she is in." I state as I push the binder toward him.
Blue blinks, and he opens the binder. I can sense Geno spaz, refusing to read that entry again. The first time was enough to piss us off. And this is why I prefer to do these kinds of dirty research. My minions sometimes can't stomach it. Cross frowns, re-reading the entry from behind Blue. I wait a bit, feeling Blue's emotions drop with every word read. He clutches the binder, his hands shaking.
When Blue lowers the binder, I can feel his conflicting emotions. Rage mixed with concern with a bit of sadness. Horror comes up, placing drinks on the table. He goes back to cook. Blue looks up at me, his eye-lights shifting between darkening and light. Geno pats Blue's shoulder. When Blue calms down somewhat, he begins to speak. He sounds strained.
"I...I didn't know Ink could...or would do this...The way he introduced Error sounded like he was very protective of her-" Blue stops midway into his sentence. I can feel his emotion spike up as if he realized something. "...That would explain why he acts the way he acts. I, I have to stop him. He can become good! Dream and I can help him rehabilitate so that he doesn't do this again!"
Ah, that naive thinking. The one thing that could get a being killed. For now, I'll let him think that Ink is redeemable. I could use him in getting Ink into that cell. Since Ink cannot die, I have made a trip to ScienceTale to make a chamber that would nullify magic. We'll use that cell to keep Ink caged up. I don't care if he never leaves that cell, as long as Error is safe and away from him.
"That's good and all, but I don't think telling my brother would be a great idea," I state. Blue looks at me in confusion.
"Why not?"
I smile at him. Geno shivers from it. Tsk! Cross shakes his head at Blue's naivety, disappointed as well. "He is too stubborn to listen. He'd probably think you got brainwashed by me just because Ink said so."
"You can't know for sure! If I tell him about what you all have said, I'm sure he'd be willing to listen."
"Understand Blue, I am telling you this for your protection. Tattle to Dream about all this, then you're the one who will be in trouble." I cut off his thought. I'll need to keep Geno with him so that Blue doesn't try this.
Blue frowns, but nods. "I understand..."
Horror places down plates of chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and corn. I stick a fork into the chicken, taking a bite into it. "...So I'm going to ask this now, are you willing to join us?"
Blue glances at the folder and back at Geno who is eating corn. Cross stares at Blue with a hard gaze, I can feel him gathering magic. As if to attack if he doesn't agree. Blue turns back at me and nods. I smile. Cross dissipates his attack. Whether Blue was aware, I am unsure.
"Great! Dig in."
