-Geno's POV-
"Gahh!" I shout, slamming into the floor. Fell looks down at me with a disappointed look. He huffs, offering a hand to pick me up.
"That's the best you got? Try harder. Even that child-like Blue has better coordination than you." Fell insults me after lifting me. He points to Blue who is beating up a dummy using both his fists and kicks. Dream is also nearby, practicing shooting normal arrows of different sizes and calibers.
Fell hits my back. Like how a team player greets a winner. Yet, I don't feel like a winner at the moment. Why am I the only one being his punching bag? This is the only thing Ink has done right since I got here, choose a coach that can teach us to fight well.
"Alright! That's all for the day, stop!" Fell shouts. The others halt their activities. Fell walks towards a table that has his jacket resting on it. He picks it up, throwing it onto his shoulder. "Rest. I don't want you all complaining that your bones don't work tomorrow. I'ma go look for a snack..."
And with that, Fell leaves. I see Dream also pack up the last arrow. He's almost hit every bullseye on the wall. Most of the arrows seem to be broken from the excess force Dream exerted. I'm guessing Fell wanted him to control how much power he releases so that he won't be as tired after using his magic arrows too much.
Blue runs up to me, smiling. "Geno! Are you okay? Fell did a number on you, huh?" He asks. I laugh awkwardly. Not wanting to admit that he was right. Blue's eye-lights shift into stars as he grabs my hand. "Come on! I'll make you my world-famous tacos to cheer you up!"
As we walk towards the kitchen, we pass by Fell who seems to be holding some sort of milkshake. Strawberry flavored? Blue salutes Fell who just nods and walks away, not even acknowledging my existence. I'm still iffy with him. Probably because he seems to only beat my butt up.
Blue drags me into the kitchen where he proceeds to make a mess-er cook! I sit down on a chair as I wait, wondering how to get Blue on my side. I've gotten him to trust me by taking him to visit his au and such. But would that be enough for him to join Nightmare? I look behind me and spread out my magic to make sure no one is nearby. I sigh, getting nervous. I told myself I'd try. So I must try.
"Blue...can I talk to you about something? It's a hypothetical question...You don't have to take it seriously..." I open up as Blue adds the glue to his tacos. He glances back at me and smiles.
"Go ahead!" He says.
"If you had to choose between your friend and someone's safety...what would you choose?"
Blue pauses in his cooking. He puts a finger on his cheek, seemingly thinking about it. "...Can you clarify it more? I don't think I quite understand."
"For example...your friend had been treating you badly and is most likely treating someone else like that as well. He's abusive and very impulsive. And that someone could be suffering because of that. Even if they were your friend, would you be willing to help the random person or keep staying with that friend?"
Blue pauses in his cooking, and he glances back at me with a look. "...It's just a hypothetical...right?"
I quickly nod with a strained smile. "Yeah! It's just a hypothetical..."
Blue frowns, then smiles. "Well, I'd choose to save that random person over my friend! Their safety comes first after all! But I'd also try to change my friend's mind. After all, no one is truly bad. Just misguided!"
I smile at Blue's optimism, thinking that I should risk it. I just hope I won't regret this. "Blue...I have something very important to tell you. Can you come over here for a second?" Blue brings the tacos with him and places them down on the table. He leans forward so that I can whisper. I gulp and go straight for it. "What do you feel about Nightmare?"
"Hmm...." Blue closes his eyes, thinking about it. "...I'm not sure. From the many battles I've seen him in, I've always wondered why he would kill people. Why he's so fixated on destroying everything? No one is born pure evil. We're taught to be it. And although Dream doesn't say much, I'm pretty sure he misses him."
Blue sits down as he shoves a taco into his mouth. Eating it as if it's something delicious. He continues his statement.
"I won't lie, he's scary. Unlike Dream, Nightmare gives off an unwelcoming aura. But that's where I find familiarity with him. He reminds me of the human who did all those Genocides."
I freeze up, realizing that Blue just claimed to remember the resets in his timeline. If that's the case, why does he still care for that human if he fears them? Blue brings his fist near his face, looking pumped up.
"I want to know why he's so bad in the first place. If the human was capable of change, so could he be! That way, Dream and he can finally be family again. Enough with all this killing too. We wouldn't have to fight anymore!"
I laugh a bit at his statement, feeling more willing, to tell the truth now. If what he says is true, then I don't have to lie to him anymore and Nightmare would have one more helper to help find Error. I bite down on the taco, forgetting that Blue had made it. I scrunch up my face but swallow it anyways.
I cough up some glitter. Blue pats my back, asking if I'm okay. I nod and decide to speak. "Blue, I have a question. Please keep an open mind too. If you don't agree, then act as if nothing happened today or I will be forced to leave."
Blue's expression falters, probably realizing that what I had asked previously might hold more truth or that what I am about to say now is very important. I clear my throat of any more glitter before speaking once more.
"Would you like to join Nightmare's gang?"
Blue sits there in silence, staring at me. His starlight eyes shifted away into nothingness. The more time passes, the more worried I become. His eye-lights reappear as he breathes in some air before questioning me.
"...Tell me more about your situation."
I smile when he doesn't agree or disagree. Maybe I can persuade him?
