-Geno's POV-

"Hi...my name is Geno, and you are?" I ask, holding out my hand as a greeting to another new recruit. But he just glares at my gesture. Hands crossed on his chest.

"You must be really weak if you got kidnapped that easily." He states. My eyebrow twitches a bit.

"Oh, don't mind him. That's just Fell's way of saying greetings!" Blue says, swooping in. "So, Geno, this is Fell. Fell, this is Geno. Play nice!"

I can hear Fell grumble as he takes my handshake. Dream walks in, looking a little better than last time I was here. Is he always tired?

"I see you've already met each other. Sorry I couldn't meet with you earlier, I had to do some paperwork. Can't really trust Ink to do it when he forgets what he was previously doing and draws on it instead." Dream says, still holding a binder with a quill.

"Now that you mention it, where is Ink?" I ask, looking around for any site of him.

"...Ink is on break." Dream says, sadly.

"Wait, on break? Why would he be on break? Isn't he supposed to be protecting the aus?" I ask, confused. Why do I have a bad feeling?

"Well...he said he was tired. And I guess everyone deserves one after all. He has been protecting the aus longer than we have." Blue states, a little sad.

"...By the sounds of it, he's done this more than once. Hasn't he?" I ask, no, state. I can see them look away from me, confirming my suspicions. "...Why do you put up with it?"

"Because he's the leader of our group. He's the one who knows when an au is being messed with. All I'm good for is healing Blue up and sensing a lot of negativity. I can't view into aus like he can. I can only peep into others' dreams to protect them from Nightmare." Dream says, rubbing his eyes.

"But that's okay, Dream! You're doing a great job!" Blue says, trying to cheer him up.

"Aren't you supposed to be the embodiment of happiness? Why are you sulking?" Fell asks, quite rudely. But he does have a point. Nightmare seems happier than Dream is...Maybe...I should tell Nightmare about this.

"Fell! That's a mean thing to say. Apologize to Dream!" Blue urges Fell with a frown.

"No. It's alright. I may be the protector of positivity, but even I can feel sad at times." Dream states, smiling. "But I should really get back to these documents. I'm almost done with them."

"Would you like me to help with some? I've done tons of paperwork before. And besides, it's already time to go to bed too. The sooner we get these done, the sooner you can rest." I offer. One, because I pity the guy and two, because I'll be able to read about their plans.

"...That would be nice." Dream smiles.

"Um...so where do I sleep?" Fell cuts into the conversation. I just realized that we're in another base now too. So where will I be sleeping then as well?

"Oh! Come with me! I'll show you your headquarters." Blue says, dragging Fell along with him. Dream chuckles at the sight while handing me some paperwork.

"You can look over these documents. Ignore the scribble, Ink tends to draw all over the paper." Dream comments as I follow him into an office filled with piles and piles of paperwork...I suddenly regret requesting to help him.

"Were you planning on completing all of these tonight?!" Even Nightmare didn't have this much paperwork to handle. Mostly because we do things without planning ahead.

"That was the plan, yes. When you're done with that stack, tell me." Dream says as he sits at his desk. I plop down onto a bean sack while looking over the paperwork. The silence is deafening to me. Especially when I hear the occasional writing being done by Dream. How many times has Ink pushed this job onto him?

I'm not sure how much time has passed, but the silence is broken by the sound of someone knocking at the door.

"Come in." Dream shouts.

Blue walks in, carrying what appears to be a tray of tacos. "Thought you guys might like some refreshments, so I baked you guys my famous world-class tacos!"

"Thank you Blue, you can leave them on the table." Dream says, smiling a bit.

"Alright. And here's yours as well Geno. Hope you like them!" Blue says, placing a plate in front of me. "See you guys in the morning!" Blue walks out, closing the door behind him. I pick up a taco, taking a bite out of it. It's indescribable. I swallow it, realizing it tastes similar to my brother's spaghetti. I turn to see Dream eating them without making any expression.

"Is this all you ever eat?" I cannot help but ask. Dream looks up at me as he finishes his last taco.

"Yes. Blue likes to cook. But I have no need for eating. I just do because it would be rude not to eat this."

I cannot believe I'm hearing this. "Have you eaten other things besides tacos?"

"Well, the occasional pies from Toriel and spaghetti from Papyrus, but other than that. No."

This is just getting even more messed up. In Nightmare's castle, we make time for eating. Horror is our chef for obvious reasons. Nightmare doesn't make us do work so late into the night unless it's really important. But even then, he tends to do it all on his own. But here, not only does it lack basic necessities, but Ink is also pushing all of his work onto Dream's shoulders. He's supposed to be the boss!

"Are you alright?" Dream asks me. I must have released too much negativity at that moment.

"Yes, just a little tired is all. I think we should continue doing this in the morning. It's not like it will all run away."

"I guess you're right. I may not be tired physically, but I am mentally. See you in the morning I guess." Dream says, smiling tiredly. I nod, placing the documents on top of the bean sack. I walk outside the room, coming across Blue sitting alone at the dinner table. I observe him staring at his tacos, sadly.

"Blue?"

He jolts up from me calling his name. He quickly smiles when he sees me standing outside the kitchen. "Oh, hi Geno. What brings you here? You're finished with those documents?" He asks.

"No, Dream and I decided to work on them in the morning...Why were you staring at those tacos sadly?" I can't help but ask.

"I wasn't! I was just thinking about something really hard." Blue denies. This has got me thinking...If Dream is treated this poorly by Ink, then I wonder how Blue is being treated.

"What were you thinking about?"

Blue's smile falters for a split second. He hops off his chair. "On second thought it's getting really late. Wouldn't want to wake up tomorrow feeling very tired. I'll see you in the morning!" He says, teleporting away without waiting for my response. I stood there in silence for a moment. What was he thinking about that made him so sad?

I frown, scratching my head. "...This is more complicated than I first thought..."
