-Nightmare POV-
"So, this is the last you saw her at?" I ask Reaper who is sitting on a dead tree. He's holding the toy bunny my gang retrieved from Error's anti-void. His thoughts are unknown. Although this is the first time meeting him, my very being is screaming danger. Warning me not to get anywhere near the guy or something bad could happen. And I understand immediately that he too is a god.
"Yeah. She went back to her home. The anti-void I believe she called it? And you're sure she's missing?" Reaper asks. His voice sounds deep. I can feel its vibration and how mad he truly is. I can also sense that some of his rage is directed at me. Although I love his negativity right now, now is not the time.
He takes my silence as confirmation. At the moment, it's just me and him. I had sent off my gang to check on the aus Error visited a lot. Mostly to get more helping hands in the search for Error. After all, reading what Ink considers a 'training regimen' had me pissed off. Was he trying to drive his workers insane? I may hate my brother, but even he doesn't deserve such treatment. It's worse than when I was being bullied in my passive form.
"So, what's the plan?" Reaper asks, jumping off his dead tree branch. He rams his scythe onto the ground, sitting on top of it. As if refusing to touch the dried-up, dead ground. I shift my tentacles a bit, tensing up even more since he's a bit closer now.
"Well, there are multiple. I'll tell you what we're focusing on right now. Recruiting beings to join in the search and or war for Error." I state, grinning. I've heard before from Error that I should smile politely when negotiating with others. Something about my other smile being too intimidating for most. Hey, it's not my fault that they're weak.
"And I'm guessing that you want me to join as well?" Reaper asks, tossing the toy bunny up and down. The way he's sitting is pissing me off. Why sit like some sort of pharaoh? I calm myself down. Getting mad won't help me.
"That would be helpful too."
Reaper stops tossing the toy bunny. He sits up a bit more. Like some sort of gangster. His eye-lights turn off, and I can feel his magic bursting. As if giving me some sort of warning. "I'll help, but only because it involves her. Don't think that we'll become chummy all of a sudden. Unlike Error, I can see you for who you truly are."
My smile falls. And I go back to my condescending smirk. Seems he knows what I am like when destroying aus. Like I said before, I'm not like Error when killing others. Why should they have a happy ending when my guys can't? It's only fair they feel our pain. "I was hoping we'd ignore those facts and come to an understanding."
"Understanding? Ha! I'm different from you. It's my job to kill, not yours. Error is too forgiving to creeps like you. All I can sense is corruption, on par with hate itself coming from you. The only reason I haven't tried killing you is that I am aware you're needed for the balance. If not, you'd be 6 feet under." Reaper snaps, glaring my way.
The silence is deafening. I sigh in resignation. "Whatever, working this once is fine. I don't have time to argue with the likes of you. You're even more dangerous than me after all. Just being near you is sending warning signs all around me."
"I thought you said there was no more time for arguing?"
"Just stating a fact. Let's move on now, shall we?" I ask, pulling out a small notebook for me to take notes on. "What can you do, besides kill others with that scythe?"
"I can sense when a being dies or is on the verge of death." Reaper smiles as if saying he's better. What are we fighting about? "What can you do?"
"I can sense strong emotions of negativity and receive a power-up from it," I state, giving back a smirk. Reaper's magic darkens for a split second. But goes back to normal.
"I see. Well, I can also destroy determination souls."
"Ha! I can enter people's dreams."
"I can touch someone and end their life in an instant."
"Well, I can create shadow clones that look like papyrus."
"I can-"
"ENOUGH! Why are you wasting my time like this?! We could be using the time to make a plan to retrieve Error! Yet, you're over here bickering like a child!" I shout, angered at the loss of time. Reaper frowns.
"I just find it unfair that she met you first before me! If I had met her before you, then she could have been with me this whole time! And not end up getting kidnapped by that unfeeling bastard!"
My face twitches at that statement. Is he serious...? "Are you fuckin stupid? You're jealous? And what do you mean by unfeeling?"
"I thought that with you being able to feel emotions, you'd notice how Ink is...I'm not even sure that the so-called protector of aus has a soul. He reminds me so much of Flowey." Reaper says. I can sense his emotions calming down somewhat.
I make a thoughtful look. Is that Inky squid being soulless? That could explain a lot. But then how can he act as if he cares? I occasionally do feel his anger. Perhaps it's something else...does it have something to do with 'The Rainbow' Geno told me about? What is so important about that area that even Ink keeps a secret?
I push back my thoughts and turn to look at Reaper. I frown somewhat. "Listen Reaper, Error is like a sister to me. If she gets hurt because I didn't rescue her on time, I'm blaming it on you. Got that?" I threatened, my animosity leaking through. But I quickly pull it back when I realize Dream could find me with it.
I get confused when Reaper's magic lightens up after the threat. I stare at him in question.
"...So you're not trying to steal her from me?" Reaper asks. I suddenly realized this bastard thought I wanted to date her. What the fuck.
"No! She is my sister! And don't think I'll let her date the likes of you!"
Reaper smiles and sits up properly. "Sorry, we got on the wrong foot earlier. So what would you like me to help with brother?"
I flinch at that. "Don't go trying to get on my good side! As I said, I will not allow you to date her!" I shake my head, trying to clear my thoughts. Reaper keeps his annoying smile. His eye-lights come back.
"Wait, is anyone else gonna join us in our meeting? Or is it just gonna be you and me?" Reaper asks.
"There might be a few..." I state. And as if by sheer coincidence, portals open behind me. I glance back to see my gang stepping out from them. Alongside some new faces. They must be the recruits for this special mission.
