Dawn's POV
I sigh as I sit at his desk, twirling the chair around and around. I left Silver at home, letting her enjoy a break from her duties and have fun with Emmie.
It's been three hours since he left me in here, and I was beginning to get bored. I've watched a movie and some episodes of my favorite cooking show already, but I was still bored. All the books on the shelves were Italian, so I couldn't even read. My phone was dead, and I didn't bring a charger, so all I could do was be on Jay's computer. Which was boring because I didn't want to touch any of his files, so all I really had was Netflix and Hulu.
The office door bursts open, men filing in. "Chi sei? Perché sei qui dentro? Che stai facendo?" One of them yells at me. I raise an eyebrow, surprised that I wasn't even afraid.
"I'm sorry, but I can't understand you." I reply kindly, they exchange loaded looks.
"Who are you? Why are you in here? What are you doing?" They repeat, what I believe, their original statement.
"Oh, um, I'm with your Boss. I'm in here because I can, and I'm watching Netflix. Any more questions?" I answer sassily, one of them roughly grabs my arm.
"You're coming with us. Alonzo will know what to do with you. Boss is in a meeting and we don't want to anger him." He mutters, roughly dragging me towards the door.
"Let go of me! Right now!" I scream, thrashing around as panic sets in. Another man grabs my other arm, holding me as I try to thrash but I'm effectively trapped. Jay steps into the office, his weary eyes now filled with fury.
"What's going on?" He demands, I relax at the sight of him.
"We found this little girl in your office. Don't worry, we'll take care of her." The one on my right grins.
"I'm not a little girl!" I spit on his face, he raises a hand to slap me.
"I'd advise against that. She's my girl and if you dare hurt her I'll murder your family slowly in front of you. Drop her, gently, right now." Jay orders, they set me on my feet. I race to Jay and throw my arms around him. He wraps me closer to him, but I knew despite the gentle hold that he had on me, he was close to beating the living shit out of them.
"Jay, Jay. It's not their fault, I forgot to lock the door like you told me too. I'm sorry, don't hurt them. Please." I beg, noticing as he takes a step forward with me still attached to his front. He pauses, looking down at my pleading face.
"Alright, darling. I won't hurt them, but if I see even the tiniest bruise on your skin after this I will find them and beat them." He promises, looking at them with a glare.
"No, you will not. They didn't know I'm yours. Just calm down, please." I beg, he sighs and leans down to kiss the top of my head.
"Fine, I won't. But one more time they mess up, I will murder them." He promises, I hesitate.
"I... we'll come to that later. Boys, it was a pleasure meeting you but before he gets even more angry, maybe you should leave." I speak softly, not looking away from Jay.
"Of course. We're really sorry." One of the men speaks before they dart out of there, racing away before Jay could stop them. I pull Jay inside, shutting the door and locking it.
"Jay, breathe. You're okay. They're gone." I say soothingly, noticing that he was in one of his own kind of panic attacks. I guide him to his chair, pushing him down into it and sitting on his lap.
"Are you okay?" He whispers, but his mind wasn't focused on me. His eyes were full of panic and were distant, as if he were trapped somewhere else.
"I'm okay, I'm good. I promise, look at me." I whisper, cradling his head in my hands. His eyes find mine, panic flaring.
"I can't lose you. They can't touch you. They can't touch what's mine! I can't lose you again." Tears fill his eyes, I shush him quietly and kiss his forehead.
"Jay, you won't lose me. I'm right here, and I promise I'm yours. I'm not leaving." I smile, hoping to soothe him. He buries his head below my jaw, holding onto me like I was the only thing in the world that mattered to him. "I love you." I smile, he slowly relaxes as I pull my fingers through his hair and rub his back.
"I love you too." He whispers, I lift his head up and gently kiss him.
"When did your panic attacks begin?" I ask softly, cupping his face in my hands.
"A little before I had to break up with you. I... was terrified to do it and it hurt so bad when I had to watch you fall apart in front of me. I... I can't do that again." He murmurs, eyes wide with pain and pleading.
"Shh, I know. I know. Trust me, you don't ever have to break up with me again." I smile sadly, catching a tear that slowly falls from his beautiful eye.
"I'm sorry, so so sorry, Dawn. Is there anything, and I mean anything, that I can do to make it up to you." He looks at me, eyes full of regret and sadness. He looked at me as if I was the only one who can give him salvation.
"Never leave me again and love me. That is all I ask." I reply, he nods quickly.
"Always, always! I promise, Dawn. I promise!" He agrees, kissing me once again. I smile, getting off of him and helping him up.
"Now let's go see that surprise you wanted me to see." I laugh, watching as happiness fills his eyes once more. He takes my hand, leading me out of his office.
"Perfect, I can't wait to show you." He grins, pulling me past his new men and down towards his flashy car.
