"Would you stop moving?" Lauren demanded, her tone harsh but her eyes lighthearted and teasing as she ghosted the brush across the canvas. The light filed through the large window, illuminating the curvature of Camila's form from where she sat on the tall stool in front of the window, one hand under her skin, the other draped across her knees. Lauren had come up with the bright idea of painting Camila the second time she saw her, but she felt as though now was the perfect time, she hadn't been in the studio in weeks, and with spring break starting in three days she knew she wouldn't be back for almost as long. She had kept where they were going from Camila until they got there, and at first she'd been skeptical about it, but she warmed to the idea with a little persuasion from her favourite shade of green. Camila had however grown restless after a two hour stretch in the chair and had taken to trying to talk to Lauren to pass the time.
"But-" Camila began to speak but one harsh look from those green eyes had her quiet.
"I'm almost done," Lauren said, the tip of the brush hovering above the canvas. She tilted her head to one side, glancing at the painting carefully before looking to Camila, her gaze flickering between the two for the longest moment. Lauren dipped the tip of the brush in the paint she had mixed that was the closest thing to the colour of her dark brown eyes she could find before ghosting her hand over the canvas where her eyes were framed perfectly by long, dark lashes. She set the paint brush down on the sideboard, smiling with satisfaction as she motioned to Camila to come see. The brown eyed girl moved slowly, cautiously almost toward how she looked through Lauren's eyes. When her dark orbs met the glistening surface of the texture canvas the breath all but fell entirely from her lips, her eyes widening in surprise.
"Lauren..." Camila gasped, admiring the way she looked in the painting, tall and poised, elegant almost, her hands draped in the perfect position. Lauren was extremely talented, capturing the every curve of her posture in the oil painting before her.
"You're beautiful, I know," Lauren smiled, pulling Camila closer to her with one arm tightened around her waist, she pressed an affectionate kiss to her cheek. Camila smirked, lifting the paint brush from the sideboard to drag the still wet tip of it across Lauren's cheek, decorating her girlfriend's face with the colour of her eyes. Lauren stared at her intensely, her jaw dropping as though in a sort of shock that Camila knew she didn't really feel. "And apparently a little shit as well," Lauren teased, pushing the hand that held the brush upward, marking her girlfriend's neck with the paint.
Camila raised an eyebrow at her, flicking the tip of the brush until brown paint splattered all over the green eyed girl's face. Lauren searched behind her body for a bottle of blue paint, popping open the cap before shooting blue paint all over the brown eyed girl, Camila squealed in shock, diving behind the painting to retrieve a bottle of red paint. She popped the cap and shot the red substance across the room, Lauren ducking just in time for the paint to collide with the wall above her head instead of her face. Lauren straightened, a smirk on her lips, shooting the remainder of the blue paint at Camila. Camila, much to the surprise of Lauren, had managed to squeeze the red paint out of the tube, and all over Lauren's face. She rubbed her hands across her face, ensuring none of the paint got in her eyes before taking a few steps forward, setting the blue paint down on the windowsill. Camila was gazing at her like a
deer caught in the headlights, eyes wide with a mixutre of anticipation and fear. Lauren smirked, sliding her hand around the back of her neck, pulling her close in order to whisper in her ear, "Let's make purple," Lauren husked, her other hand finding the small of Camila's back as she pulled her close, the paint on their clothes mixing together as their lips met, smudging the paint on their faces into a vibrant purple that spread across their skin.
Lauren pulled out her phone, snapping a picture of the pair of them kissing, the mixture of paint, as well as the orignal colours splattered across their skin evident in the picture. She smiled against her lips, allowing her eyes to flutter open as their paint covered foreheads fell together. "Come away with me," Lauren pleaded, once more offering her proposal to Camila.
