Camila had just gotten off work and her phone screen read.
1 unread message
She slid her finger across the screen, typing in her password, the message flashing up on her screen immediately.
Loren: I got a spot in the exhibition! Do you wanna know why? I got a spot because of this super gorgeous girl called Camila Cabello that I asked to model for me one morning in her apartment. Do you remember? ;) But anyway, the plan for Tallahassee, I have to submit my pieces on Thursday, so I was thinking, why not just stay here and get my beautiful girlfriend transported to me by my baby brother... Chris and Mani are on their way back to Miami to pick up the pieces I want from my studio so all you have to do is pack, see you tonight. x
Camila could have sworn she'd forgotten to breathe when she read the last sentence of the text message. Was she really going to spend the remainder of spring break with Lauren and her friends in Tallahassee? It seemed like it. But if she wanted the fantasy to be anywhere other than in her head, she had some people to talk to.
Camila: Firstly, you can't just abduct me without warning just because you feel like it. Secondly, I love you. Thirdly, when and where am I being picked up by your baby brother?
Lauren smiled when she received the message, a wicked grin on her lips as she queued up for coffee in the Starbucks near the Jauregui & Co. office in Tallahassee. She almost choked on her breath however, when she looked up and caught the eyes of her ex-girlfriend staring back at her, Olivia was queuing in front of her in a white button up, the first two buttons undone, and a purple pencil skirt. Her Jauregui & Co. badge caught the light, drawing Lauren's attention to the fact that it no longer read "Employee" but instead read "Junior Manager".
"Lauren, you're staring," Olivia said, snapping the younger girl out of her trance.
"I... What the hell are you doing here?" Lauren asked, her voice taking on a demanding tone.
"Doing some work for Papa J," Olivia replied nonchalantly, turning her attention to the barista just long enough to rhyme off "Low fat soy latte, caramel, no whip and a chai latte with extra cinnamon please" Lauren proceeded to stare at her with wide eyes until she returned her attention to her with a smirk on her lips, she was astounded that Olivia had ordered for her, or that she'd even cared to remember what her Starbucks order was. "Do you wanna get us a table? I think we have some catching up to do, don't you?" Olivia asked, acting as though they were long term friends rather than past lovers that had a messy end.
"I don't think-" Lauren began but Olivia hushed her with her gaze, causing her to sigh and cross the room to the little table by the window where hopefully they could get this conversation out of the way as quickly as possible, she had a lot to do before Camila got here. Shit. Camila. Lauren thought, realizing that she'd almost forgotten to reply to her girlfriend as a result of being too caught up in the shock of Olivia being here rather than being in Miami, where Lauren assumed she still worked. But of course Olivia was here, she just couldn't seem to let Lauren forget that she still existed, regardless of how little Lauren wanted to believe it. She unlocked her phone typing a quick reply to Camila.
Lauren: Sorry! I forgot to reply! Just ran into Olivia in the city, wish you were here already to scare her off. Chris will pick you up @ 4 @ your apartment. Wear a dress, we're celebrating tonight xo
She then slipped her phone in her bag, she thought it unfortunate that the pockets in the white mid-thigh dress she wore were not deep enough to keep anything bigger than a bank note in. Olivia sat down across from her five minutes later with the cups in hand, sliding the cup with name 'Lolo' written on it in her own cursive across the table to Lauren. Lauren sighed, mumbling a thank you before taking a long drink of the spice infused substance.
