Camila laid on her back on the towel, her taut abdomen exposed, her arms stretched upwards, a book held in her hands over her face, blocking the sun from her eyes. Lauren was staring at her contently as Sofi piled sand onto her abdomen, a mischievous grin on her lips.
"What are you doing Sof?" Lauren asked, never tearing her eyes away from the smooth skin of Camila's face.
"I'm building a sandcastle," Sofi replied casually, patting the sand down on her sister's abdomen with her pink spade. Lauren laughed, the sound low and husky. Camila lowered her book at the sound of her laugh, her gaze trailing down her abdomen to the pile of sand that Sofi had formed there.
"What the hell Sofi!" Camila exclaimed, brushing the sand off her abdomen with a dissatisfied scowl on her face. Lauren's laughter intensified, her hands buring themselves in the sand, moving to hover over her girlfriend's abdomen as she sprinkled the sand there, watching intently as the little particles hit her warm skin.
"I needed a flat surface," Sofi complained, rolling her eyes at her big sister, who had now moved into a seated position, her gaze flitting between a smirking Lauren and a huffing Sofi.
"And she was making use of the available resources," Lauren shrugged, her gaze fixed on Camila who was now scowling at her, her bottom lip jutting out in contempt. "If you don't want me to bite that lip of yours I suggest you rein it in Camz," Lauren mouthed silently, a smirk on her painted red lips. Camila's eyes widened, immediately she checked if Sofi was paying attention before she punched Lauren roughly in the arm.
"Hey! Don't hurt my Loren!" Sofi yelled, moving to stand protectively in front of 'her Loren'.
"Yeah Camz, don't hurt her Loren," Lauren chimed in, sticking her tongue out at Camila from behind Sofi's back. Camila lifted her hand to cover Sofi's eyes as she raised a middle finger at Lauren.
"I think you'll find she's my Loren," Camila huffed, crossing her arms across her chest. Lauren loved the way her name sounded when Camila pronounced it like that, a little more Cuban than usual. She found it even more endearing however when the tiny Cabello said in her childish tone.
"I dunno, I think I'd rather hang out with little Cabello," Lauren teased, pulling Sofi down onto her lap. Sofi squealed as Lauren tickled her sides, her small body thrashing to get away from the green eyed girl.
"Oh really?" Camila asked, biting down on her bottom lip, a seductive glint in her brown eyes. Lauren averted her gaze, refusing to look at Camila.
"You can pull all the faces you want not as Little Cabello, but I cannot be persuaded," Lauren retorted, smirking at her frustrated girlfriend. "Hey Little Cabello, do you want me to buy you some ice cream?" Lauren asked the small girl who had returned to piling little mounds of sand on top of her older sister.
"Yes please Lolo!" Sofi exclaimed, bouncing up and down in excitement.
"How about you not as Little Cabello? Does my baby want some ice cream?" Lauren asked, that oh so familiar intensity in her gaze as her eyes ran over Camila.
"Sure, whatever," Camila shrugged, averting her gaze from Lauren playfully.
"I don't like your attitude," Lauren smired, taking ahold of Sofi's hand as the pair turned to walk away from Camila, her green gaze however was still locked on her scowling girlfriend, her tongue stuck out between her lips. Lauren rolled her eyes, blowing a kiss to Camila before turning away from her to walk across the sand with Sofi.
"My sister must really like you," Sofi commented, her hand holding onto Lauren's as they walked toward the ice cream truck. Lauren had, for some reason, been so terrified of meeting Sofi, especially knowing that the little girl was angry with Camila for forgetting to pick her up yesterday afternoon, but the second she met Lauren her petulant mood seemed to fade away and everything was as it should have been, Camila was smiling, Sofi was talking to her again, and Lauren was, well she was there, and to her that's all she ever wanted to be.
