Chapter 19

Vanitas picked me up in his arms and jumped off the edge of the cliff with ease. He landed perfectly on the ground below, but yelped out in pain after he landed. I quickly jumped out of his arms and placed my arms around him. "Are you alright?!"

Vanitas winced and nodded, gently pushing me away. Roxas appeared beside him as Vanitas continued. "Xehanort gave me some nasty wounds. That's all."

I simply nodded and looked to see where the others were. I had to make sure they were okay. It seemed like Leon, Axel, Riku, and Zoro handled the two Organization members themselves considering they weren't in my eye sight. As soon as Zoro noticed us, he ran over to me and gave me a huge hug.

"You're okay!" He said with a smile.

"Speaking of okay..." Vanitas grabbed me and examined my face with a sharp eye. "Who the hell did that to your face?!" I gingerly touched the tips of my fingers to the gash, which stung when I touched it. My fingers tore away from my face as I winced. Vanitas frowned, then he seemed angry. "I said who the hell did this to you?! They left a scar on your beautiful face!"

When he said beautiful, I smiled. But then I had to regain my composure since Vanitas was not happy at all. "He's dead, it's okay."

"He better be." Vanitas muttered, letting go of my shoulders and grumbling to himself.

"Guys we don't have much time." Leon came rushing over with Riku and Axel behind him. Leon grabbed my shoulders and looked me straight in the eye. The way he stared at me made chills go down my spine. "We need to-"

"To listen to me."

A voice that seemed to be cold as ice was heard. All of our heads turned toward the voice to see who was talking. As I should have guessed, he was an Organization member. The one with long blue hair who I saw from a long time ago. He seemed to be glaring right at Roxas, who gulped and tried to hide behind Vanitas. I heard Axel mutter "Saïx." As the man with blue hair took a few steps toward us, stepping over the fallen rocks.

"Axel and Roxas." Saïx said boldly. "You both have betrayed the Organization, and for that, you both will die." He said "die" over dramatically before his gaze fell upon Vanitas. "And you, child, will be coming with me. With our own members betraying us, you're coming with me. Like it or not. Im tired of this little game. Now that the old lunatic is out of the way, you are all mine for the taking!" Saïx held up his hand and clenched it into a fist as he smirked.

I instantly stood in front of Vanitas like he did to me. My menacing glare made Saïx lift his eyebrows in surprise as he looked at me. "You're not touching him." I growled.

Saïx chuckled, then lifted his hand to point up top the top of the cliffs. Our gazes turned to where his fingers were pointing, and I realized there were even more Organization members standing there. Most of their hoods were down, and their hungry eyes were fixed upon us as if we were prey. I tensed up and took a step back, where Vanitas took out his sword and held it out in front of me for protection.

"I have my army ready to fight you pathetic somebodies." Saïx spat.

I saw Leon lean ever so slightly toward Axel. His whisper was barely audible as he said, "Make a portal so everyone can get through."

All of the sudden Axel fell into the ground where he had made a portal, and Riku jumped in after him followed by Roxas. Saïx screamed Axels name as Leon nodded toward me and jumped in.

Just as I was about to follow the three, I saw Vanitas' sword tear away from in front of me. I gasped as I realized someone had knocked Vanitas down to the ground. When I whipped around, there was a man with short blonde hair and had cards in his hand. He snickered before lifting his hand and slapped me to the ground on the opposite side of Vanitas.
