Chapter 1

Warning: This is a new edit. I wrote this a looooong time ago and it's not my best work, but I've enjoyed seeing how far I've come in writing and have decided to keep all my stories here.

Before we begin, I would like to thank BiancaRosenburrg for the title of this book! She is the most amazing friend of mine and she's the one who's come up with lots of my titles for stories XD So you all should totally chat with her! She's fantastic!

Secondly, I know my stories have been in First Person a lot lately, but guess what? This will be in first person as well...Just because I like first person...It's more fun...So yeah erm, enjoy! :D

I personally believe that Heartless shouldn't exist. Well, a bunch of people probably think that but I think about it more often than them. First, they attack my house. Second, they kill off my parents who were only trying to protect me. Third, they managed to destroy everything I've ever loved. They demolished my whole town...My whole world.

Yeah, I have heard about the worlds and Heartless. I just never believed the stories and tales until now. I thought it was just some folklore to tell children to scare them. However, I guess they were right...Maybe they didn't even know they were right.

I'm pretty sure they believed when they were killed by the Heartless. I even watched a few people's hearts being taken away. I guess I was lucky. I had one single scratch on my thigh before I was finally sucked up into the large growing ball in the sky. I knew without a doubt that the Heartless made it so they could consume my world; And me.

I somehow, ended up alive in a whole other world! I was lucky I remembered everything...Then again, maybe not. It was said that after the Heartless ate up your world, you would forget about it. I believe that only happens if you become a Nobody. I digress. Anyway, I woke up to people murmuring and whispering. So when I opened my eyes and sat up, I was right in the middle of some kind of shopping area.

Once I woke up, the people around me started to crowd even more, asking me stupid questions and just being annoying. It wasn't until Leon, one of my good friends at this moment, appeared.

"Everyone move!" He yelled at the crowd.

The people did back away, but their hungry eyes were still on me. My face felt hot as Leon approached me with one of the most intimidating looks I had ever seen. I looked up at him. My face was probably red.

"What's your name?" Leon demanded with his arms crossed.

I swallowed the lump in my throat before replying with, "Zara."

Leon scoffs and picks me up into his arms. My face turns even more red as he begins to carry me out of the shop area.

There was an awkward silence as he carried me. I was pretty sure that I could walk on my own, It's not like I haven't been walking for a good fifteen years...Well, since I couldn't walk until I was about 2, so make that thirteen.

Anyway, he took me to Merlin's house, who is also a good friend of mine. He's a little looney, but I guess I still like him.

As soon as Leon opened the door, the Great Ninja Yuffie got up into my face and asked me more questions than the shop people did all together. I ended up covering my ears and closing my eyes until Leon managed to shut her up. Yuffie slunk away like a bad puppy before plopping herself down somewhere in a corner, but still watching me with wide, curious eyes.

Cid, who I like to call "Crazy Old Man." who was sitting on the computer chair, is also staring at me with wide curious eyes. I felt kinda awkward, being held by Leon in a room full of people who are staring at me...Did I mention that Merlin was as well? He was right beside Cid.

Leon finally planted my feet to the ground. I acted as if there were dirt on my skirt and wiped it off before staring right back at everyone. Why? Well, I was just showing them that I didn't care is all. So I placed my hands on my hips and almost glared at them.

Cid smirks and nods his head. "Hm. Newcomer?" When Leon nods, he continues. "Well then...She'll just have to stay. Do you know about the Heartless?"

I nod as well. "I know everything. In my world, the towns people used to talk about them all the time. I just didn't know that they actually existed."

Merlin comes toward me and smiles. Roughly patting my back, he says, "By the way. I'm Merlin. This is Cid, Leon, and Yuffie. There are a few others like us, but they could be anywhere."

Leon rolls his eyes. "Welcome to the club." He says flatly, since the group obviously doesn't seem like a club.

I just smiled at him. "Thanks." I said.

I knew everyone from then on. I have eventually met Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, and a few other people from the town. When they found out that I didn't carry any weapons or I didn't have any powers, they told me to always stay with someone at all times, because of the Heartless....I remembered that, until one week later of staying with them.

I went out for a walk by myself, exploring the town a bit more.

And thus, the story finally now begins.
