The words of his soulmate. Merlin felt at one again, a peaceful feeling piecing together his heart. That exhausted emotion that had been drowning his chest out was now empty. Merlin was a vacant bottle, no longer filled with the guilt and stress of him not being good enough, of not being able to save Arthur. The people of Camelot were watching, Morgana and her men were watching, Mordred was watching, the Prince of Camelot was watching. Waiting... For Merlin to respond, to do or say something. The sorcerer peered out to the people in the room. A huge hall, stretching out so far, you could barely see the thrones at the back.
As he studied the people, he turned back to Arthur. Those words. They connected eyes and the answer became simple. The prophecy wouldn't stop here, it would carry on for as long as their love would blossom. Merlin would protect Arthur for all his days and Arthur would grow to become the greatest King Camelot will ever know... A smile fell on Merlin's lips as he began to walk forward a few steps. Morgana watched impatiently, Arthur quite the opposite as his gaze scurried his previous partner's features. Merlin was sure now, and he knew that Arthur would not have to rule Camelot alone.
"I am Merlin, Prince Arthur Pendragons manservant, and I am here... To put an end to you, Morgana." The sorcerer declared. It seemed that the priestess thought this was funny because she turned back to look at Mordred and began to scoff and laugh. The woman's men began to chuckle alongside her, the chained down village folk simply just staring or flinching in fear at the volume of her wicked tone. "And how do you... Suppose you will do that, hm?" She questioned, looking down at her bruised foe as she grinned an ungodly smile.
Merlin created a confident, certain posture of himself, curling his fists as he made sure his voice was steady. It was time he spoke the truth.
"I am Merlin, and I am an Omega..." He announced once more, the tiny gasps of his admittance flooding the room. Arthur's eyes widened as he watched his mate. "I have lived here for years, hiding who I was because of what would happen... I was scared, but I had–" Merlin's eyes connected with Arthur's, smiling weakly. "I had him." He whispered, the two sharing a painful smile that filled the void with a romantic ruling. Merlin could not help but feel happy in those grim moments.
"And I had Camelot. These people Morgana, they're wonderful." Merlin proclaimed. "Children of dreams, loyal, respectful folk. They do not deserve your wrath." He told Morgana, the priestess seemed taken aback, despite her best efforts to conceal it, taking a cautious step forward as she listened. As everyone listened.
Merlin took his stand. "So I'll tell you what I will do Morgana..." He warned, creating a threatening glare in his eye as his eyes turned a solid gold colour. The room was silent, awe edging every corner as every single person lay their eyes on the servant. Arthur saw Merlin in such a stronger light, he could feel his magical breath on his lips and see the aura that he was emitting. If Arthur wasn't strong enough to defeat Morgana, then Merlin surely was... All those years of doubting... Led to this? Here they were now, and it was beautiful to see Merlin uplifting the people.
