Chapter 7: Are you drunk?!
Sign up for the junior's spring fling dance committee now!!!
I read this while passing in the halls. After doing this I immediately sprinted off to Kelly.
"Kelly it's up, it's up!"
You know most losers like me wouldn't even bother to be excited about some dance coming up and that there were still 6 months left before it actually happened. Kelly flashed me a big grin she knew exactly what I was talking about. You see me and Kelly were super ecstatic about the dance in fact we loved dances. The fact that we never had dates didn't matter but the sense of accomplishment we got every time was even better. Soon Tracie came by the locker.
"Hey weirdos I-" she took a look at our grinning faces and her eyebrows pulled together. "Okay you guys are grinning drastically so I can guess that either you guys ate to much sugar or a school dance is coming up." We started squealing regardless to all the strange looks we were getting.
"Ladies, ladies! I know I'm attractive and all but no need to squeal like pigs at the face of my presence." It was none other than Ethan who (sadly) joined the conversation.
I quickly put on a scowl in my face. "You just ruined it." I stated glaring at him. He took a step closer to me trying to look threatening.
"Did I really?" he asked.
I nodded "Isn't that what I just said?" he smiled and I couldn't help but smile back. Kelly then came in between us. "She's just exited for the spring fling." She commented.
I sent her a smile. "You're into that junk?" he asked.
Tracie put her hands up in relief. "Finally someone who understands me!"
I rolled my eyes. "You guys are such party poopers. Dances are the best I mean how could you not love them?!"
"You just don't!" Tracie and Ethan said at the same time. They smiled at each other than did that man shake that no girl on earth knows. Tracie was probably the only one in entire girl population that actually knows how that works. I felt a pang of jealousy in my stomach but immediately dusted it away like Cinderella would (No offense Cindy...!!)
Oh come on Marissa it's just Tracie and I mean who cares you barely support Ethan as a friend.
Hmm sure!
I slapped my stomach to stop the pang that kept throbbing it didn't feel good and I wanted it to stop. Everyone looked at me weirdly.
Well of course they would you just slapped your stomach for no reason.
"Um I'm j-j-just h-hungry that's why I slapped my stomach." I hid my face from embarrassment and suddenly I got really interested in the details on the ground. I never realized how nice our school floors (oh who am I kidding I just saw an ant crawl past me). There was a moment of awkward silence until Tracie broke it.
"Are you guys staying after school?" Tracie asked. We both nodded "Well I can't drive you guys home."
"What?!" both Kelly and I said at the same time. We looked at each other. He smirked and I scowled.
"Okay bye!" Tracie said before sprinting down the hall. She was smart enough not to stick around and feel the wrath of my fury. I turned to Ethan and smiled.
"So..."
"I'm not driving you two home." He said quickly and started heading off to class.
"What are we going to do? We can't miss the first meeting you know how strict Melissa is." Melissa was the leader of all the dance committees she may be mean and strict but we shared the same passion so it was okay.
