Chapter 15: I'm just waiting for a pig to start talking to me right now.
We were heading to the mall to find our dresses because the dance was in about five days. You see Kelly, Tracie and I are all procrastinators even when it comes to dresses. And even if we weren't I find it odd for people to buy their dresses so early. The same thing happens every time, they find a dress and fall in love then two days before the dance they find a better looking one. At that point there's either three problems, like they can't return the other dress, or they don't have the accessories to match, or (the most common one) they can't afford it after spending their money on everything else. So my friends and I are actually saving us a lot of trouble (take it from the school dance experts here...).
We walked into several stores but hadn't found anything yet. Okay maybe I'll be honest, we had only been to the food court and I had just bought myself a green tea Frappuccino from Starbucks I mean caffeine's gross! (And my mom won't let me have some, she says 'till she's not my mother anymore, so basically never...)
"Okay girls I think this is enough we should start looking for dresses." Tracie said. We both gaped at her.
"You want to go find dresses?" she shrugged. "We usually have to drag you into the store, literally." I reminded her.
She got this panicked look on her face but it quickly disappeared. "Come on let's just go."
She said while grabbing our stuff and heading to the nearest store. Both Kelly and I looked at each other with perplexed faces. Seeing that we both had no clue to why Tracie would be so determined to find a dress we shrugged our shoulders and carried on.
Once we walked into the store, I couldn't help but squeal internally. I'm not a big fan of dresses and absolutely hate skirts but when it came to school dance dresses I went ballistic, no joke.
"You know what Kelly?" I said putting my arm over Tracie's shoulder as she appeared beside us. "This is the only and probably the last time that Tracie will get a bit enthusiastic over dress shopping so..." I gave them a mischievous smirk. "We should totally take advantage of it." I said before Kelly and I laughed.
We started going through the dresses like wild dogs go through meat. I would pull some out and put them back in. At the end of my search I had come with five dresses and Kelly had seven.
"You know what this means Tracie?" she stared at the dresses we had in our hands.
"No." she replied nervously.
"You have twelve dresses to try on."

Tracie had gone through half of the dresses and she hadn't complained once. Okay that would be lying she did bring up a few choice words and stuff like "this is a abusing the advantage to scary heights." But you could tell that she was trying her best to find that special dress.
"Okay that's enough Tracie!" Both my friends froze automatically and it was kind of funny because they had stop in the oddest position, since Kelly was trying to zip her dress up. "Tracie you wouldn't just get excited about a dress, there has to be something behind this." Her face turned into the panicking one I saw before.
"Uh let's keep looking for dresses guys." She said all panicky while scurrying off and looking at other ones.
"Yeah Tracie what's going on here?" Kelly interfered. She had her back turned to us and she went down and scratched her belly button. That told us that she gave up.
"Fine." She said turning around to look at us. "You guys might want to take a seat."
Both Kelly and I looked at each other before sitting down.
