Chapter 9: Butterflies?! What?!
I walked down the aisle of our school and for some reason I wanted to observe the seniors up close. Next year we would be them. They act like their having the greatest time of their lives but I wonder if they realize they're all going to loose each other someday. It isn't all sunshine after graduation. Some friends separate, couples break up and some people try to maintain the bond but they just end making if ten times worse. But whatever all I know is I'm not ready to be a senior yet and I'm going to savor these last few moments. I walked up to Kelly's locker and knocked on the locker door that she was hiding herself behind.
"You know you shouldn't be so scared of these seniors. I mean it's sad that you have to take your books while hiding your face with your locker door."
"Shhh! Don't talk to me directly or talk about the word fear because they can sense and hear it."
I rolled my eyes and grabbed her arm dragging her down the stairs and for her sake, away from the seniors.
"You just have really bad luck Kelly I guess, being on the senior locker level." I said shrugging.
She gave me sarcastic look "Ah gee thanks captain of obvious-landia."
"Kelly why do you even have to make jokes long and complicated?" She hit my shoulder playfully while glaring at me and I stuck my tongue out at her.
"So are you doing anything today?" Kelly asked. It was Friday and that's usually when we would hang out us girls and stuff.
"No you know that I never have plans on Fridays." We high-fived
"Loser policy." We said at the same time while laughing and as usual Ethan showed up right behind us.
"What's so funny?" he asked.
I scowled at him but I couldn't help but smile. These past few days I just couldn't find the strength in me to give dirty looks towards Ethan. It was like physically impossible, I mean I tried hard and hard but it never works. I swear I've even tried in the mirror but as soon as I think of that annoying freak it, it just doesn't work.
"Oh and Rice cakes you do have plans, with me."
I turned to look him directly in the face. "What?! When did you plan this, You realize that I'm a pretty scheduled person and you can't just barge in on my plans." Ethan shoved me away and faced Kelly.
"Please can I borrow Rice cakes today? You guys can have your sleepover tomorrow and I'll leave you alone for those two days. Promise, I won't even call." He put his hands up like they do in court to swear to tell the complete truth.
She sighed "Fine but just this once." She whispered something in his ear that made him blush and she punched him playfully.
"Okay come one Rice cakes. We have stuff to do." He grabbed my arm to lead me but I wouldn't budge. Then he did the unpredictable but still predictable for Ethan. He picked me up and slung me over his shoulder.
"W-what I didn't agree to this-Ethan put me down!! Doesn't my opinion matter here?!"
Ethan slapped my butt. "Nope." He said while popping the 'p'.
"Ah!" I said in shock. "You know that I could call rape at any time and get you arrested."
"Fine then do it." I could feel him smirking at my silence. "That's what I thought."
I hit him in the back of the head. "I just don't want to have to explain to your parents how you ended up in the slammer...again."
He was silent and I didn't know if I hit a nerve or something but I realized he really didn't like the mentioning of his parents. They didn't show up at the jail house and when the officer asked for their number he refused saying that he couldn't.
