After you found out that the boys were alive everything still was a bit fuzzy to you. You were still very confused on everything, sure everything had been explained to you and you read as much of the files as you could. But it was such a strange thing to wrap your mind around. You felt like a child in this situation though, being left in the dark with some things, people talking for you and deciding for you.

It was all in a way to 'protect you' but it still wasn't something you enjoyed the feeling.

Currently you were being brought home, could you call it home yet? You hadn't been there, but it was where you would be staying from now on. Your eyes were glued on the window, watching the buildings pass as you took in the new, yet old environment that you once knew.

Steve was driving the car, Bucky asked you where you wanted to sit and you chose to sit in the back, he asked if you wanted him to sit with you and you just shrugged. So he was seated next to you in the back. Steve would occasionally look in the mirror to check on you.

You were rather quiet as of late, you weren't much of a talker in the 40s, only ever really speaking to them. But now it seemed even more so. They knew it would take you a bit to open back up, they loved you dearly so they would wait. The only sounds you heard on the ride there was the normal sounds of the city, the beeping of cars, yelling of pedestrians.

The car ride was about an hour and a half, but you didn't mind it. Soon enough the car was turning into a cute little neighborhood, a few people walking their dogs and kids on bikes were seen. It didn't take long for the car to pull into a driveway, that led to a picture perfect house. It was the type of house you had always dreamed of being able to afford with your lovers.

And for some reason it made your heart hurt ever so at the thought of them buying it without you. Sure they thought you were dead, but you missed so much of a life with them- not that it was there fault! But the littlest things seemed to make you a bit sad and you hated that. You didn't realize your door was open until Steve called your name softly, shaking out of thought as you unbuckled yourself. The blonde smiled at you, shutting the door once you got out and starting to lead you to the front door that was painted red.

Bucky was already at the door, having unlocked it and waited for you two. As you walked Steve placed his hand on the small of your back. It was comforting. Buck smiled once you got closer, opening the door for you.

They let you enter the house first, cautiously you stepped inside, your gaze shifting around the room. As you looked around you were startled by a quiet meow drifting through the room, causing you to let out a soft gasp as you turned your body to where the noise was coming from. Siting on the windowsill by the door was a fluffy white cat with blue eyes. It didn't take long for a smile to pull at your lips, taking a few steps closer to the cat. You put your hand out to the animal, it sniffed your hand before rubbing against you.

"Her name is Alpine," James said from behind you, watching you intently as you pet the tomcats fur. It was the first time you had a true smile, you always loved animals. "She's so precious," you said through a whisper, afraid to spook the little fluff ball.

It was safe to say the cat was already obsessed with you. When you pulled your hand away she let out a sad meow, jumping down from her perch to stand by your feet, rubbing herself against your legs. Her silly antics caused a laugh to escape your smiling lips, Steve and Bucky's hearts soared at the sound. They shared a look, it was more of side eyeing one another before putting their attention back on you. You took a few more steps inside, standing in front of a bookcase. Your gaze shifted through all the books, stopping at a picture frame.

Inside the picture frame was a photo of you, the same photo that was used on your missing persons poster. Soon you would find out that wasn't the only photo of you in the house.
