AUDENZIA's PIV

"Ok, we got fish and we got a shield. This should be fine." Hiccup looked back at me for reassurance, I nodded.

We tried pushing through two boulders but the shield got stuck in between. "Just leave it, we'll be fine."

"Right, cause you can slay dragons."

"I honestly don't even know how I did that without getting hurt or getting someone else hurt."

"Funny because Snotlout was crying like a baby when you were on top of him."

"Hah, hah." I elbowed just side and took lead. Hiccup had one fish in his hand, I had the other. Inside the quarry, the white fury- "hey, what if the white one isn't a night fury but... I don't know... a light fury?"

"We wouldn't know, anyways. No one's ever seen one before."

"There it is. You find the night fury, I'll deal with her." I told Hiccup, he nodded and looked around while I made my way over to the white dragon.

She was already standing defensively when I got to where she was. I held the fish to her and her ears folded down.

She leaned inwards to sniff it when she noticed my knife. I slowly took the weapon out and threw it into the lake. The light fury leant in again and took the fish from me.

The dragon tilted her head at me then crept forward. "Hi..." I slowly reached my hand towards the dragons head.

She backed away at first then stretched her neck forward so her face connected with my hand. "Can I name you?"

The light fury moved her face from my hand and circled around me. "Is that a yes?" I laughed lightly. The dragon stopped in front of me and tilted her head. "Nova is a pretty name." The dragon purred.

I went to her side and reached up to scratch her neck. Nova purred some more, leaning into my touch when she pulled away and leant close to the ground.

"What's happening right now?" I asked. Nova's eyes went from me to someone behind me. I turned and saw Hiccup. "Oh, it's ok. He's a friend."

Nova growled and jumped up. I felt something grab onto my shoulder then saw my feet leave the ground.

"Auden!" Hiccup yelled, trying to grab my foot but Nova flew us high up.

I screamed out of fear and tried to grab onto Nova's paw with my hand. "Don't drop me, don't drop me!"

Nova flew us into the sky, so when we were high enough up she threw my up.

"Oh! Great, Odin's ghost!" I cried, trying to claw my way through the air when I landed on Nova's back.

I wrapped my arms tightly around her neck as she soared through the sky. I felt us slow down a bit but didn't lift my head.

Nova shook her head aggressively, slapping me with her ear and she let out of whine. I slowly lifted my head to see us soaring over the ocean.

"Wow..." I gasped. I was so starstruck by the sight of the sunset, I didn't notice Nova looking up at me. My hands were sitting loosely on my lap, I think she noticed because she let out another noise to grab my attention.

I looked down at her and she looked at my hands, telling me to grab onto her. I furrowed my brows but did it anyways. Just as my arms wrapped around her neck she sped up back towards the way we came.

"Auden! You're ok!" Hiccup ran over and wrapped his arms around me when I hopped off Nova. "Did she hurt you?"

"No, not at all- well she did slap me actually... but no. Oh my Odin, Hiccup it was amazing up there." I squealed, hugging Hiccup tighter.

"That's... great, Auden." He wheezed, tapping my back.

"Sorry." I stepped away and grabbed his hand. "C'mon. We can build saddles for Nova and your dragon and we can train them to be good."

"Nova? You named her Nova?"

"Yeah! It's a pretty name, don't you think?"

"Yeah, sure. But... maybe we shouldn't name the dragons just because there's an off chance the village finds and kills them. If we don't name them, we won't get attached."

"You're only saying that because your dragon is hurt and it can't fly away in case something happens."

"No, I'm saying that cause if our dad finds them he is going to chop their heads off."

"Our dad?"

"You've been living with us for 9 years, Auden. He's your dad just as much as he is mine."

"Only if you admit I'm right." I gave him a blank look as I began prying the shield from between the two rocks.

"Ugh, fine. Yeah, you're right. And maybe I'm also jealous that Nova can fly properly and already likes you. Toothless barely let me touch him."

"So you did name him? You hypocrite." I hit his side with the shield, making him trip and fall to the side. "Oops."

"I'm gonna get you back for that."

It's been a few days. I've been getting better and better with Nova, Hiccup has been with Toothless as well and we've been learning knew ways to deal with dragons in the arena.

Snotlout has been hanging out with me more and more, it's kind of exciting.

But now, sitting at my desk, I was piecing together the last of Nova's saddle when the door flung open.

"Snotlout!" I laughed nervously, shoving the saddle and designs behind my figure.

"Where have you been, Audenzia?" He asked, walking over to sit in a fish net I hung from one wall to another. "I've been looking everywhere for you."

"Well, here I am." I shrugged. "Need anything."

"Uh, yeah. I'm here to hang out with my new best friend. I know you're friends with Hiccup and all but he's a chump, so I'm here to rescue you from his chumpy ways."

"Oh, that's not necessary. I was actually just about to head out."

"Cool, where to?" Snotlout jumped from the net, landing next to me.

"The... uh... ladies room. Sorry, no Snotlout's allowed." I smiled at him, making sure everything I had in my hands were hidden behind my back as I walked out of the room. My back facing away from the boy.

"What do you got behind your back?" He stepped forward.

"Nothing!"

"Nothing?" He stepped forward again. "Then what's this?" He quickly reached around my back and pulled the saddle out from behind me. "A saddle? What, you gonna go tame some wild dragons?" He asked, sarcastically.

When I didn't answer, his face fell. "You're gonna tame a wild dra-" I quickly slapped my hand to his face and shushed him.

"Calm down. Come with me."
