AUDENZIA's POV

"This is crazy. That Night Fury thing you and Hiccup said was true?" Snotlout asked, referring to the night of the last dragon attack.

"Yes. But we caught two dragons instead of one. A night fury and a light fury."

"Light fury? Those don't exist."

"See for yourself." I let go of his hand and showed him the quarry. Hiccup was there as well, playing with the dragons. "Hiccup, we got a problem." I called to him.

The boy dropped his shield and looked up. His eyes going wide when he saw Snotlout behind me. Nova perked up as well, she immediately got defensive and spread her wings out.

"Nova, it's ok, girl. He's a friend."

"Why is Snotlout here?" Hiccup asked, coming over to me.

"He found out when I was finishing Nova's saddle. We couldn't avoid this." Hiccup and I looked back at Snotlout who was frozen, his jaw hanging open. "Hey, snap out of it."

I grabbed his shoulders and pulled him with me to meet Nova and Toothless. "Woah, wait! What the hell, Audenzia?!"

"Just trust me." I raised my hand to Nova's nose, placing it against is gently. The dragon's eyes closed as she purred. I then grabbed Snotlout's hand and opened it flat. I went to place his hand on her nose when she pulled away and growled. "He's a friend, Nova. Be polite."

Nova rolled her eyes, groaning in annoyance, before closing her eyes and placing her nose on Snotlout's hand.

"Oh... ok. This is crazy. I'm touching a dragon."

"Just calm down." Hiccup said. "She's a sweet girl, just has some major trust issues."

"Which is understandable. Everything we knew about dragons was wrong." I reached up and started to scratch Nova's spot. Nova purred and began kicking her paw.

THIRD POV

"She really cares for that dragon, huh?" Snotlout asked Hiccup as they watched Audenzia put the saddle on the excitedly Nova.

"Yeah. The second we found these two it was like an instant connection."

"Must suck coming in for the third best friend."

"Third?"

"Uh, yeah. Me, the dragon then you."

"Hey, Snot!" Audenzia called, she was now mounted on the dragon's back. "Come over here." Stepping closer, the boy saw she had a leather belt wrapped around her waist that stretched down to wrap around Nova's belly. Under her was the leather saddle. "You gonna ride with us today, Hiccup?"

"Sure. You ready, Bud?" Hiccup turned and faced Toothless. The black dragon standing on all four legs and getting ready to be mounted.

AUDENZIA's POV

"Hop on." I reached to grab Snotlout's hand. He gulped before grabbing mine and allowing me to pull him up. "Just relax, and hold on. Hey Hiccup, race you."

"You're on."

"Go!" I told Nova, she stretched her wings and immediately took off. Snotlout screamed in fear behind me, trying to keep a tight hold on my waist.

Glancing behind us, I saw Hiccup and Toothless trying to catch up.

I felt Snotlout's hands slipping so I grabbed onto them and pulled them tight to me. "We're almost there, Snot."

"Almost where?! To Valhalla?!"

"Just don't fall off." I laughed as we leveled out. "Look who beat you!" I yelled over to Hiccup.

"You almost lost some cargo there!" Hiccup yelled back, nodding towards Snotlout.

Realizing we'd be ok for a minute, Snotlout moved his hands away from my waist and looked around at the view.

I stretched my arms out, as if they were wings of my own and inhaled the ocean scent when I felt myself slipping from the saddle.

"Auden!" Snotlout yelled when I disappeared. I opened my eyes and chuckled when Nova looked down at me and whined.

"I'm down here." I told Snotlout, reaching my hand up for him to grab. He did and pulled me upright.

"My, Gods. Don't do that!"

"Scared for me?"

"I thought you fell off the dragon-"

"Cheat sheet!" We heard Hiccup yell and turned to see him and Toothless falling.

"Like that." Snotlout finished.

"Hold on." I told him, steering Nova to turn around and dive after the boy and the dragon.

We made it over to Toothless first as he spun in circles, I unbuckled my belt and flung my legs to one side. "Wait, what are you doing?"

"You're gonna be on your own for a second. It's gonna be ok, just trust Nova. She won't hurt you." I gave Snotlout a single nod before jumping off of Nova and onto Toothless' back.

"Hey, Bud. Let's go get Hiccup." I rubbed his head for a second before pressing into the foot pedal, his tail fin opened and Toothless flew down to grab Hiccup.

I reached my hand out and grabbed onto his outstretched one and flung him onto Toothless' back, behind me. "Stole your dragon, sorry."

"Have I ever told you how much I loved you?" He groaned tiredly, pressing his face into my back.

"Don't tell me yet." I pulled up on Toothless' saddle as the trees below came closer, we were cutting through the air sharper than Astrid's axe.

"Here, cheat sheet." Hiccup tried holding it up for me to see but the wind had the page flapping and folding in the wind.

"Hold onto it." I brushed it away, pulling Hiccup's hand to circle around my waist as I pressed onto the foot pedal again.

The three of us dodged rock pillar after rock pillar until we reached open waters again. "You did it! You can officially fly my dragon better than me."

"No... I just got lucky." I shrugged. "Ready to take over?"

"Yeah." I flipped my leg over Toothless' body, like I did with Nova, and looked down.

I whistled, grabbing the dragons attention so she got closer. She was just under us, close enough for me to jump on her without having a Hiccup situation.

After finding myself on my dragon, I looked around. "Nova, where's Snotlout?" The dragon glanced back at me before looking under her.

I looked down as well and noticed an unconscious Snotlout being carried but his ankle. "Hey, let's make a stop." Hiccup yelled down to me, pointing over to a cliff with a flat edge for us all to rest on. I nodded to Hiccup, letting him fly in front of me before we landed.

"Hey, Snot... Snotty? Snotlout!" I slapped his face, making him jump awake.

"What happened?!" He held his hands in fists, looking around for a threat.

"I was wondering if you could tell me." I held out my hand for him. He grabbed it and stood.

"I think I fell... but that dragon caught me... and I passed out." He explained.

"Makes sense." I shrugged, going over to sit against Nova. A few terrible terror's flew down next to us and tried to steal food from Nova and Toothless, both bigger dragons growled in response.

I shook my head at the light fury and reached over to grab a fish from Nova's pile. "Here..." I called softly to one of the terrors.

The small dragon slowly made it's way over to me and took the fish from my hands. It swallowed it whole the looked over at me, coming over and jumping into my lap before curling into a ball and falling asleep.

I smiled at the small dragon and began to pet its side. "I feel awful. We've treated dragons like monsters so they became monsters. They're just misunderstood."
