Mystic Falls for some reason always needed to have a party. When I was little I remember always going to the carnival with Grayson. I think it was to shut my grams up. The only time I would actually see my father was when I visited his home.

The last party I went to was the Ms. Mystic Falls pageant. I was forced to compete due to being part of the founding families. My Grans thought it would be a good idea but I hated every second of it. But to much surprise I won.

Which is exactly why Caroline Forbes forced her way into Kol and I's lunch at the Grill. It had been a week since he told me about Silas so to cool off we decided to go out to eat. Just as we finished ordering she slide into our booth.

"I know we haven't talked in years and you don't have to like me. Hell I don't like you right now. But I really need help with the pageant this year and since you already won you would be perfect so please help," she ranted in her naturally bubbly tone.

"I was forced to participate," I pointed out, taking a sip of my soda.

"She would love to help," Kol answered for me. I glared at him.

What are you doing? I don't want to help.

We need insight on the cure.

I groaned, "I'll help you Caroline. What do you need?"

"An orchestra. Can you play for me please? Or sing? Something?" She begged.

"I hate playing for the people here," I muttered. Kol kicked my leg, "but I would love to play for you."

"Good. Be there at noon tomorrow to set up," she said before getting up and walking away.

"I hate you," I slapped his shoulder, "you know I don't like playing against my will."

"You won't be alone," he assured, "I'll play with you."

I rose an eyebrow, "and what can you play?"

"Don't underestimate me, darling. I have a few tricks up my sleeve. Now you need a dress," he took my hand, "where do you want do go? Paris?"

My eyes lit up, "I've never been to Paris."

We laughed as we ran out of the grill and into the alley. I transported us to behind a bar. It was dark but I could hear the lively city. We shopped for maybe an hour before I found a dress I immediately fell in love with.  It was red with low v line. The high slit was stitched with gold along my left leg.

"Kol i think I found it," I called out. He was waiting outside the dressing room with the compelled saleswoman.

He set the glsss of champagne down as he audibly gasped. His eyes nearly popped out of his head.

"You look absolutely ravishing," he breathed, standing to meet me at the mirror.

"You like it?" I confirmed.

"I love it," he said and kissed my hand. "Go take it off and I'll pay."

I did as told careful to not rip or wrinkle it. I met Kol at the register. The saleswoman put the dress in a decorative box. I noticed a smaller jewelry box to the side.

"What's that?" I asked swiftly taking the box before he could. He snatched it away.

"It's a surprise," he explained smiling slyly, "you'll get it eventually."

We went back to Mystic Falls with bags in our hands. Nik have a questioning glance when we came barreling through the door.

"Nik where's my piano?" I asked as I set my bags on the couch.
