"What does any of this mean?"

We lay naked on my bathroom floor as we rested between our rounds. I leaned on my elbow.

"The Chosen One? The prophecies? None of it makes sense," I ranted.

He chuckled, "I was one of the first vampires created and you're destined to become the most powerful being on Earth. I think all sense has been thrown from a window."

"Kol," I whined, "you know what I mean. Do you believe in all this stuff? Destinies?"

"Cecelia I think you're living proof to this," he said flatly. "Let's get off the floor. Come with me to bed."

The sun set and rose three times before we could pry ourselves away from each other. It's weird. I had only known Kol for a few weeks but I felt as if I'd known him my entire life. These last three days, though filled with sex, were spent learning one another. I picked his mind and he did the same to mine. We took care of each other.

And it was utterly terrifying.

My heart wanted to give in. My emotions were driven by him, his scent. It was animalistic. But my brain didn't want it. Logically I knew I should have a say. That this was wrong.

But the more time I spent with him the, more I couldn't resist.

"I don't want to go back to Mystic Falls," I said for the tenth time this morning. Kol was still worried about the prominent Esther issue. I stood at my front door as he finished doing his hair in the bathroom. I was surprised he could even walk around. My apartment was trashed.

"You destroyed my stuff," I pouted. Everything would have to be replaced. Even the stove. I have no idea how a dent ended up in it.

"You don't know your strength," he defended. "I have control. Do you?"

I glared at him as he walked out of the bathroom. "I hand-picked that granite for my sink."

"You crushed it when I bent you over," he counted, reaching to play with a curl on my head. I slapped his hand away. "Don't be like that, Little Witch."

"I don't know my own strength," I admitted as my eyes softened. He took my hand and kissed it.

"I'll teach you," he said. "As soon as we get Esther is taken care of."

I took his face in my hands, "Alessandra will be looking for me. I have to go back to Paradise." She had been poking around my brain for the last few days. I knew it was because she wanted me to train and not enjoy my change.

"You left before," he pointed out. "She said Paradise is linked to your magic. You can manipulate it."

I shook my head, "it will be different this time. I know it will."

He grabbed my wrist and kissed both of my hands. "We will figure it out then."

We returned to the manor and ask expected there was even more drama to deal with. White oak had surfaced putting their family in danger.

"Rebekah is looking into where it's found," Nik informed from his desk chair. Kol, Elijah, and I were settled in his study.

"I can read minds. Let me help." The brothers looked at one another before nodding.

I whistled as I stopped in front of the Salvatore Boarding House. Bending down, I let my magic grow the tree branches into the windows of the house.

"Hello?" I yelled out as I entered the house.

"What the hell? I killed you." I smirked at the sound of Damon.

"Just who I wanted to see," I bristled toward him, snapping my neck just as he did mine. I continued my whistling as I dragged his body out the door and let the trees trap the door shut.
