"Did I really have to meet that blockhead?"
Herin shot her head to the right as Renjun sat there with two helmets in hand, foot grazing the concrete floor, balancing his bike.
"Quit being rude Renjun, he's such a sweet person." She exclaimed proudly and placed some large folders into her bag. Renjun rolled his eyes at her.
"Sure, It's not like you don't even know him at all." He replied turning his gaze to the mixed summer sun starting it's peak to fall, sarcasm dripping off his tone.
Herin sighed, "I don't need to know everything about someone to respect them as a human being." She brought her hands up to his arms where the helmets situated, gently taking one, Herin put it on her and sat behind him with her schoolbag in the middle.
A snicker fell from Renjun's mouth, mumbling a few words under his breath that were clearly unaudible to Herin.
She perked her eyes up at his small laugh, lips forming a light smile while clutching her hands into a fist at the hem of his jacket. "What? What's so funny?" She asked, purely.
Renjun put his helmet on and gripped the brake lever strongly, shaking his head in process. "Nothing darling."
--
"It's not gonna eat it." "You don't know that, he or she may-" "No it won't."
Renjun sighed, exhausted, as he leaned his back against the red brick wall outside the ice cream shop. Infront of him was Herin bent down by an orange stray cat, waving an extra ice cream spoon in air.
Renjun clicked his tounge loudly when the cat walked away, and left a frowning Herin behind him.
"Don't you already have that white thing in your house?" He asked, eyeing her as she got up.
"He's not a thing, Renjun. His name is Oreo." She said, slightly feeling offended for her cat.
Renjun blinked while in thought, "So isn't this cheating?" "What do you mean?" Herin was puzzled by the confusion on his face.
He threw away his finished cup and turned to her, "You're cheating on Oreo with another cat."
Herin froze for a second. Then burst into fits of laughter.
An angry, demented look formed on Renjun as he watched her laugh joyfully. "What?" He asked, irritated. "It's true, you already have one of them at home why would you want another?" He grew impatient at her nonstop laughs.
Herin finally controlled her self and gained balance by leaning on the wall with her hand. She took a deep breath and looked over at Renjun's sulking figure.
She chuckled, "You're so cute."
Renjun gulped as the words came so smoothly out her mouth, so casual. She said it as if it meant nothing, just friend-like.
