Prison World an Hour Before-
It had been a few days since Silas and I found that my magic had returned. Kai had been radio silence since he stabbed my hand. We both agreed he was planning something and until we found the ascendant we had to watch our backs. We were currently in the woods, trying to find the perfect place to line with the solar eclipse. It was half of our way out.
"Where do you think the Ascendant is?" Silas asked as we walked. I sighed.
"With our luck, probably with Kai." I told him. Silas stopped walking giving me an exaggerated look. "What? You think we would be lucky?"
"Yeah, you're right." He laughed, walking again. We were pretty deep into the woods, probably an hour before the actual eclipse. The wind was picking up as we walked until suddenly I could only hear the crunch of the leaves I made. Turning to look behind me, I saw Silas was gone.
"Silas?" I questioned, glancing around. "This isn't funny, Si." I walked around.
"Oh, I think it's rather hilarious." I snapped my gaze to see Kai leaning against a tree. A gasp leaving my lips in shock.
"What did you do to Silas?" I asked lowly. Keeping my magic hidden from him. I didn't trust him one bit. Kai grinned.
"Oh, I'm sure he'll join us soon enough." His eyes moved to look at my hand, where he had stabbed me. I moved my hands, folding my arms and tucking them away. "Hmm, Perfect. You've got your magic back. See I've been away for a bit doing some research." He started, standing up straight and pacing in front of me. "I'm sure you've heard of the whole Gemini Twin ritual, right?"
"Yeah, the merge. I'm sure most witches and warlocks know about that odd tradition of theirs." I muttered. Kai chuckled.
"Yes, well. Normally the merge is done between twins. Fighting for the power and all that."
"Get to the point, Kai." Kai raised his hands up.
"Calm down. I found some interesting information. I want you to merge with me." Kai announced. I let out a laugh.
"I'm sorry, Kai. Maybe you've had you neck snapped one too many times. But I am not your twin." I reminded him. Kai let out a laugh and clapped his hands.
"Exactly! But, there has been a few times where the Gemini Twins merged with another instead. When a twin passed away or something happened." He explained.
"That's great and all, Kai. But you do know I am stronger than you, right?" I told him in a duh tone. A similar tone that a mother used on a child when she said I told you so. "You would die."
"Now that I do not think is true. I'm a siphone. If done right, I can over power you." He said smartly. I sighed.
"And why do you think I would just agree to this?" Kai laughed, pulling something out of his jacket pocket.
"I thought you would ask that." He held the ascendant up in my eye sight. "You do this, you get this."
"But if we merge and you win, I get nothing."
"No, you die. But who knows, maybe you'll be lucky?" He said with a sassy grin.
"Fine. Let's do this." I accepted. Kai grinned, stepping towards me with a dagger. I took it from him, slicing my hand deep before he took it back, doing the same to his own.
"Ready, little Raven?" Kai asked, using an old nickname my father had called me. I glared at him, grabbing his hand with a squeeze.
"See you on the other side." I mutter as he flinched at the squeeze. We both began to chant, the wind picking up more as we did. As the world begun to go dark I heard Silas running towards us.
