Albus POV

We were standing in front of the Malfoy Manor, the dim lights casting our shadows on the stone-paved path. An electric-like pulse shot through my body as Scorpius leaned in and kissed me; it felt like we were the only two people in the world. He slowly pulled away, revealing his deep blue eyes, one of which was partially covered with his striking, white-blond hair.

With a start I jolted awake and took in my surroundings. Great, yet another unbearable dream about me and my best friend. I can already tell this is going to be a horribly long year at Hogwarts.

Sunlight tore through the greyish-green curtains; I'm surprised Scorpius has managed to stay asleep for this long. I love it when he sleeps, it means I can take in all of his perfect features without him even noticing. His arm was drawn over his closed eyes, which in a way was even better than seeing his perfect-blue-and-partially-green eyes. God he's flawless.

Scorpius' alarm interrupted my long-lasting gaze. He snatched the dreadful buzzing thing in his left hand and flung it across the room, which kinda shattered it to pieces. "I hate the first day back. I hate it." Scorpius glanced over at me, who was currently sitting crossed-legged on my sage-green duvet. He smirked, "You look ready for the day. I'm certainly not."

I wasn't ready for the day, not at all, because I would have to suffer the first agonising day of Rose and Scorpius being all lovey-dovey together. I don't know why it irritated me so much, I just felt an awful pang of pain... and maybe even a hint of jealousy.. when I saw them together. Why couldn't he be like that with me?

He swung his bedsheet over his legs and onto the floor whilst dragging his shirt over his shaggy blond hair to reveal his very slight abs. I broke my glance and started getting ready myself.

"I really don't want to do potions today. I'm fed up of it. 'Oh, but potions are so important for your daily life as a wizard' literally no one cares Miss Bolton." Scorpius mocks, waving his hands around and almost dropping the entirety of his book collection.

"You never know Scorp, there could be a day where one potions class can save your life." I smirked and nudged him softly in the ribs.

"I highly doubt it. Anyway, Rose should be here soon. Does my hair look ok?" he flicked his hair to one side and stared into my kinda boring green eyes. They're not even a nice green, just a dull, lifeless green.

I was just about to lean in when Rose came out of nowhere and laid her hands on Scorpius' shoulders. "Guess who!" she said with a smile plastered across her face. The corners of his mouth turned up as he exhaled deeply. God I love when he does that. I almost forgot Rose was there, but of course, she was. Like always.

The two spent the whole class talking to each other, me dipping in and out of the conversation whenever I could be bothered. I would occasionally stare in their direction only to see them whispering and giggling to one another, Scorpius slightly ducking down every time he did so. Another one of the smallest things which made me admire him more.

Finally, the bell rang and the class was over. I was washed with relief when I remembered me and Scorpius had a free period next; Rose didn't.

We all shuffled out the classroom in single file, everyone brushing against each other's shoulders. I was the first to escape the madness so I pulled over to the side and waited for Scorpius to get out the classroom.

At last, he got out, his face twisted with a slight twinge of pain as people were bustling past him. I met his eyes, his pure blue eyes, and watched his lips sink into a smirk. That was it. I had to make my move in our free period.
