Killing Without The Murder

Albus POV

The strange girl embraced Scorpius in a tight looking hug. He hugged back for a minute, pulling away after a while. He stroked one of her dyed curtain bangs, a smirk across his face.

"Thanks." She smirked back, turning to me. "Hi. I'm guessing your Albus?" I didn't trust her. She was weird; I liked her hair though.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Effy Duncan. And you're Albus Potter."

"How do you know my name?"

"Hyper told me."

"Hyper?"

"Scorpius."

"Right. Okay."

"I got it from his middle name."

"He has a middle name?"

"Yup. Hyperion."

I smirked. That was a pretty cool name. So was Effy if I'm honest.

"I still don't trust you." I said, forcing the smirk off my face.

"I don't need you to trust me. I just need you to be here and let me do what I need to do."

"And what exactly do you need to do?"

"Scorpius asked me to..." Scorpius dashed up to her and covered her glossy lips with his right hand. Confusion crossed her rosy face.

He shook his head slowly, this Effy girl slowly nodding in agreement. Scorpius trailed his hand away from her face, an apologetic smile appearing on his.

"So... what's the plan then?" Effy clapped her hands, her silver rings banging together. She had a snake one which particularly caught my eye - it wrapped around her finger. It was really cool.

"I have to get to transfiguration so I'll see you guys later. Enjoy... whatever." I picked up my books which were strewn across the bed and left swiftly. That was awkward as hell.

Scorpius POV

'Where's this Delphi girl?" She asked, a smile broadening across her face. I was about to pull my wand out again when she stopped me, "No, don't worry about it, I can use my little mind reading trick. Remember? The one I showed you when we were younger?"

Yeah, I did remember. I remembered crying to my Dad because she knew about that time I was on the round about in the park and I forgot to hold on so I flung off it and hit my back on a tree. I was a very distressed child.

"You cant still be mad about that Hyper." There she goes, reading my mind again. Great.

Stop that I thought. I shivered; my body temp always went down a lot when she did this.

"Cold?"

Yeah

"So. Where's this Delphi?"

Right next to you

"Huh?"

She spun around to see the girl with silver-blue hair standing next to her. "Hi!" She smiled and waved slowly, Delphi did the same. "Are you Effy?" She said, still smiling.

"Yeah, yeah I am." Effy glanced at me, "So... you're supposed to be killing me but not killing me then?"

"Oh, no, I'm just here to show Scorpius how to do it. The plan won't work if I did it." Delphi let out a little laugh; turning to face me as well.

Should we get to work then?

"Yeah. Might as well get this whole murdering thing out the way, right?" Delphi glimpsed at Effy, took her hand and lead her to the top of the astronomy tower.

"This is probably the most open space we have here - makes this feel pretty dramatic doesn't it?" Delphi strutted into the centre of the tower.

"Well, I guess it's time to kill me." Effy said with more enthusiasm than expected. We joined Delphi in the centre, Effy standing right at the end of the circle in the floor, Delphi and I standing in the middle still.

"You have to flick your wand to the left slightly, then down and to the right, then up." She placed her hands on mine and showed me the movement. I did it on my own a couple of times.

"You don't have to say anything; this spell was created to be a silent spell; one that would ensure it couldn't get into the wrong hands."

You sure about this?

"Yes, Hyper, I'm sure. Just get on with it."

I mentally prepared myself for what I was about to do; I couldn't mess this up. If I did something wrong, I could kill Effy.

I swished my wand in the directions Delphi gave me, a blue light sparking out from my wand, hitting Effy right in the chest. She screamed and fell backwards - her breathing stopped immediately.
