Scorpius POV

My audience had left - at last - so I was free to take action on my plan. I inspected my body all over and found I only had the 2 cuts on my left arm. My stomach turned; deep down I wanted to find another cut so I wouldn't have to do this.

I stared at the wall, chanting I'm my head, "You can't win. Prove me wrong." She had a soft spot for competition; I knew she would take the bait. And to my horror, she did.

My soul felt like it was being ripped from my body, my bones being crushed into millions of tiny pieces. It took all the willpower I had not to cry out in pain.

This is where I had to give in. I had to let her win. "Stop!" The possibly-nice Delphi came into the room, waving her hands about, "You can't do this! You'll be trapped!"

I hadn't thought about that. I broke my focus and the fight was seemingly over. "How do I do it then?" I caught my breath.

"I suppose I could... help you?" she wondered. "I mean, it would be risky, but I could help you fight from the outside so you can do whatever your trying to do." that was a good idea.

"Okay. Do whatever you need to. Just make it silent." I braced myself to lose; to be in the pits of my own stomach. The battle commenced once again.

A cry escaped my mouth; it was only quiet - hopefully no one heard. I was almost there. I could feel myself slowly sinking down into a black abyss of nothingness.

Boom. Nothing. I had the impression my mouth was moving. The feeling of the cuts was strange - there was a sort of numbness to them.

"SCORPIUS!" I heard a muffled shout, coming from what I presumed was Dad, followed by a series of thumps and clangs. Silence.

"I need to... I need to..." My vision was back but blurry; I wasn't back into my body yet but I was starting to travel into it. I could see Delphi lift up her wand, cast a series of suppressed spells, and with that, I shot back into my body.

I inhaled sharply and clung to the sides of my mattress. My hand broke to my throat instantly cutting between by short, deep breaths.

"Did you do it?" Delphi asked, arising slowly from the floor. "Don't you dare talk to him! Scorpius, son, are you ok?" Dad unclenched my hands from the bed, concern blanketing his face.

For some reason, that angered me. He shouldn't talk to Delphi like that. He would make them both mad; both the girls.

"I'm fine." I said flatly. I desperately wanted to check my arm, but I couldn't. Dad was here and I couldn't let him find out why that just happened again.

"I'm really... tired..." I wasn't lying; I did feel extremely tired after what just happened. I felt my eyelids slowly drooping down, and with that, I collapsed onto my pillow and fell asleep.

Albus POV

The bright sunlight awoke me the next morning; I didn't remember actually falling asleep. There was a clambering sound in the corner of the room, so I turned to see what was going on.

Draco was fumbling through Scorpius' dark oak draws, flinging shirts across the room as he did so. "Mr Malfoy?" He spun round and dropped the pair of black boxers he was holding.

"Uhm... what are you doing?" I cocked my head to the left slightly to show my confusion. "Ah. Albus. Hello. I'm looking for some sort of silver necklace; you have any idea where it is?"

That provoked more questions than answers. "Yeah it should be in the middle draw of his nightstand." I hesitated, "Do you mind if I ask why?"

"Oh, thanks; it's because he's practically demanding it. I have no idea why. It's a bit weird if I'm honest."

Right then... that was helpful. Thanks Draco.

Scorpius POV

I need that necklace. I don't know why, but I really need it. Like, now. Desperately.

Dad reentered the room and threw something silver and shiny at me; it was the necklace. I smiled, instantly feeling a connection to it.

"Thanks Dad. You're the best." I pressed the cold metal up against my cheek; I was boiling.

"Hey, I know I've already asked a lot, but would you be able to get me a cup of ice?" I loved crunching ice. Loved it.

"Ice..." Dad announced gradually, "Right... I'll go get that for you." He sauntered over to the school kitchens and got me my cup of ice.
