I'm Gonna Die...

Scorpius POV

Once everyone had left, Delphi turned to me. "I'm really sorry about everything before. I just wanted to be loved I guess. I just wanted to have a Dad." she had tears in her eyes.

"It's fine. It's okay. Now, please explain what the hell is happening to me." I looked her dead in the eye, waiting hopelessly for an answer.

"Okay. Don't freak out." she hesitated for a moment."

"But I kinda escaped Azkaban and went back in time again but I met the past version of myself and things changed making me realise I was doing the wrong thing so I tried to stop past me but I ended up making everything worse and now basically she - well, I - want to kill you."

That was a lot to take in. I felt the urge to scream; I opened my mouth ready to let it all out but I was interrupted, "Please don't scream!" Delphi held her hands in front of her, anxiously glancing at me.

"You're gonna scream aren't you." she blinked, lowering her arms. Yes Delphi. Yes, I am going to scream. And there's nothing you can do about it.

Albus POV

Draco and I waited outside fearfully. What was she going to tell him? Was he going to die? My thoughts were cut short as a blood-curdling, ear-piercing scream tore through the silence.

For the second time that day, we shot into the hospital wing and towards Scorpius' bed. He was thrashing his hands against the bed and bouncing around as he did so, "IM GONNA DIE. IM GONNA DIE. IM GONNA DIE." he chanted; it was almost rhythmic.

His loud sobs cut between the deep breathing; he seemed completely overwhelmed. "OH MY GOD IM GONNA DIE. IM GONNA FUCKING DIE. IM TOO YOUNG TO DIE!" My heart sank as his screams and shouts rung throughout the building.

"Scorpius, please. Calm down. You're not going to die." Draco attempted to comfort his son unsuccessfully, "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. I CANT ESCAPE THIS. IM GONNA DIE!" This really was the definition of inconsolable.

He shrieked so deafeningly; but there was something different. The voice coming out of him was starting to become more high-pitched. More... feminine.

Whatever the voice was started to cackle. A horrible cackling at that. It was unsettlingly familiar; Delphi.

Draco looked mortified; who wouldn't be? The voice of the girl who reigned hell upon his life breaking through his sons throat? I wouldn't be able to handle that.

It finally stopped; one last howl; then nothing. He collapsed down onto his bed, whacking his skull on the headboard.

Scorpius POV

It had been around 4 hours after I woke up from my last pass-out session. It was pitch black outside, making everything even more unsettling than it already was.

I lifted up the soft sleeve of my grey Slytherin jumper to reveal 2 horizontal cuts bridging across my left forearm. That's really weird.

I had previously seen one cut on my arm after the first incident; I seemed to develop a new cut every time one of these 'possessions' happened to me.

I couldn't be sure though. I mean, it had only happened twice. Not enough evidence, as my DATDA teacher would say. I knew what I had to do deep down - but could I pull it off?

Albus POV

That night was a sleepless and restless one. All I could think about was Scorpius... and how much pain he was in. In all the years I had known him, I had never seen him in so much agony; not even when Delphi performed the cruciatus curse on him.

I tossed and turned but I couldn't get the image out of my head. Scorpius crouched down on the floor, the intricacy of the cuts lined across his face - and covering his entire body.

I couldn't help but feeling something was off - like another incident maybe? No. I had a monitor on Scorpius' hospital bed - not that he knew of it - which would tell me if there was any sound or commotion.

Draco was bunking in Scorpius' bed for the night; he wanted to be there when his son woke up. "You asleep?" I usually whispered that to Scorpius, but I guess Draco was the best I could get right now.

"How could I? My son is in the hospital wing screaming about how he's going to die." There was a tightness to his throat - he'd definitely been crying.

"Yeah. I just can't get the picture out of my head. He looked so... twisted. Different." Just then, a notification came through on my phone. There is motion in your room.

"Draco," I used my free arm to prop myself up whilst I stared at my phone screen, "Either Scorp's awake or there's something seriously weird going on."

We both swung our sheets to the floor and dashed to the hospital wing. There, we would find Scorpius laying awake in his bed, sweating from head to toe.
