Make Your Move

Scorpius POV

I managed to squeeze my way past the dozens of people blocking the archway out of that hell, making my way towards Albus. "Remind me never to do potions again." I hated potions with a burning passion. What was the point of it anyways?

"Will do Scorp." he rolled his eyes and turned his head slightly. "I just love potions!" Rose appeared behind us, her face gleaming. How did she always manage to do that?

"Scorp would disagree." a wave of something which looked like disappointment washed over Albus' face. Rose pivoted to face me and raised one of her eyebrows. "It's boring okay?" I grabbed Albus' wrist and tugged him away from Rose. "Lets go to the dorms before she kills us all." I grin and raise both my eyebrows at Rose. Albus' face lifted slightly as he walked away with me.

We arrived at the dorms around 5 minutes later; the staircases decided to move just as we were about to get to the entrance. Annoying, I know.

Albus glimpsed over at me and I caught a sight of his adventurous green eyes. Sometimes I wonder why I'm even dating Rose when I have Albus; she's pretty and all... but it's not like I loved her or anything. She can be kinda aggravating at times.

I'm the one to break the somewhat awkward silence, "You up for a game of chess? I still want a rematch." Albus hesitated for a minute, then moved his face inches from mine, "Only if I win. Which I will." Of course, cocky as usual. That made me want to beat him even more. I pushed the door open and we ran inside to set up our game.

Albus POV

This was it. The perfect moment to kiss him. I mean, how romantic. Play his favourite game with his favourite person, kiss him when no one else was around, be boyfriends. There was no turning back now. He had to do it.

Scorpius was setting up the game, picking every separate piece up with such care. It was like the figures were as light as clouds, and Scorpius was the sky carrying them along.

"You ready?" he turned the board so that the white pieces were facing me, "I'll let you have a head start. Since I'm going to win and all." That adorable smirk crossed his face again, lighting up the whole room. I picked up the pawn on the far right and moved it one square forwards. We played the game for a while, moving pieces all across the board, until I was about to have him in checkmate.

Scorpius sighed, "You've won. Go on then, make your move." He was right. I needed to make my move; not the one on the board. I swiped all the figures off the board and onto the floor, each one clattering quietly. "What are you..." I didn't let him finish. I couldn't. I leaned across the table and kissed him mid-sentence. It. Was. Amazing. For a second, he seemed paralysed with shock. Then, to my surprise, he kissed back.

We pulled away from each other in utter silence. Had that seriously just happened? Was this another dream? No. It couldn't be a dream.

Scorpius POV

That did not just happen. That did not just happen. That did not just happen. Albus Severus Potter kissed me. He kissed me and I... liked it. Oh my God I liked it. For the first time, I noticed all of his features, like the way his jet black hair was swished to one side, the way he bit his lip when he was nervous.

I slid my foot under the high table and used it to wrap my leg around his. I smiled, not being able to contain my excitement any longer. "Well... that took a turn." I gazed into his speckled green eyes, waiting for a response, hoping, praying, he didn't think the whole thing was a mistake. I wanted him. I wanted him more than anything in the world.

"Did you... like it?" he tensed up, biting his lip even harder, almost to the point of blood. "Did you?" I counter-argued. I couldn't make a fool of myself, not in front of him. "I wouldn't have kissed you if I didn't want to, Scorp." my heart lifted in relief.

I couldn't control myself. "Does this answer your question?" I pulled him into a kiss, my hands resting on his rosy cheeks. It was like heaven. No. It was heaven. I didn't think anything could feel better than our last kiss; I was wrong. Very wrong. I felt like I was floating in a pool of affection, weightless, perfect.

Knock Knock Knock. There was a knock at out dorm door, but we were too induced in... whatever this was, so we left it. Suddenly, Rose stormed into the room. We broke apart with a jolt. "I knew it! My plan worked!" she squealed in excitement. "What?" me and Albus blinked, glanced at each other, and looked back at Rose.
