Scorpius POV

Delphi and I had been brainstorming for hours on this one piece of paper how to go through with our plan. It was difficult, because we had to find the right person to be able to 'kill'.

The way we were going to do this was to use a spell which was like killing but didn't actually kill the person - just stopped the breathing for a couple of seconds.

"What about your Dad?" I shook my head with intensity - there was no way I could do that.

"Albus?" Was she mentally okay? No! I shook my head even faster; I thought for a moment my head was going to fall off.

"How about the trolley lady?" That made me laugh; a silent laugh of course. There was no one I could do this to - especially bringing in the factor of would that person tell someone.

My immediate thought would've been Albus, but of course I couldn't kill him. He was my boyfriend after all; there was no way I could do that!

I did have a friend who I'd known since I was 12 - Effy. I hadn't seen her in a really long time, but I knew she wouldn't tell a soul. She was the most loyal person you could ever meet.

"You look like you have someone in mind but you don't want to say it." She has to be a mind reader.

I grabbed my wand again, focusing my mind to write more and more. 'Yeah. I have this friend Effy. I'm sure she could do it.' I had a pounding headache; this was hard.

"Okay, yeah, sure. How the hell are you keeping them letters up for so long?" I broke my focus, the letters disintegrating in consequence.

I felt a cold substance run down my lip and drip into my dry mouth; it tasted irony. Blood.

I had concentrated myself so hard that I had managed to give myself a nosebleed. I probably shouldn't have been, but I was pretty damn impressed with myself.

"Anyway, maybe you should ask this Effy girl. I mean, you think she can do it, right?" Delphi was right; I had to ask Effy.

An owl came crashing into out green and silver diamond stained glass window, holding a blue sealed letter. I knew instantly that it was from Effy.

"That yours?" Albus called out from the other side of his room, his face buried in a muggle book I lent him; 'The Fault In Our Stars'.

I scrawled the deep, fiery letters onto the thick air 'Yup. It's from my friend Effy. She's in Ravenclaw.' His eyes widened as he stared blankly at the orange letters carved into the atmosphere.

"How did you..." Before he could finish, I began writing again 'I practiced a lot. It gets easier as you go along.' I could feel my nose starting to run with the red liquid; I could taste the iron trickling down my lips.

"Scorp, you're bleeding!" Albus panicked, and of course Dad had to come in at that exact moment. Perfect.

"What? Where? Are you okay? Was it Delphi again? I swear, if it was her..." Dad trailed off when he saw me clutching the letter.

"Is that from Effy?" He was very easily distracted; I used that to my advantage quite often. I nodded, wiping the blood off my skin with the back of my sleeve.

"Ah, good you're talking to her again. She was a good friend, she really was." Dad smiled and left, taking a quill with him as he went.

I opened the letter with care; I remembered how much Effy hated when people tore their envelopes.

Inside was concealed a neatly folded letter with carefully joined up handwriting. Yep, definitely Effy.

She waffled on quite a lot, but at the end was the answer I was desperately hoping to hear.

What I'm trying to say is that I'll do it. I'm on the train to Hogwarts as we speak, and I'll probably be here by the time you've received this owl. Meet me outside the sly-

Obviously there wasn't an actual dash in the letter, but I was cut short of reading it by a loud knock on the door. I exchanged a glance with Albus as I strode over to answer it.

As I opened the dark oak door, I was met with a brunette-haired girl (with blue dyed curtain bangs) wearing a 'Nirvana' t-shirt with a white skirt and striped arm sleeves.

"Long time no see, Hyper." She smiled. God I'd missed her so much.
