Trigger Warning: Mild panic attack, anxiety, depression,

About a week later, Vic was volunteering at the community theater's 24 hour musical, which Maya thought was one of the most insane things she had ever heard, but Vic loved it. Maya and Carina planned to go with the rest of the station to see the show the following evening when it was done.
Tonight, however, Andrew was coming over for dinner, something that made Maya incredibly uneasy because Andrew hadn't exactly loved the idea of his sister getting back together with someone who cheated on her. She had heard off handed comments from Teddy and Amelia about how he felt, mostly when they thought she couldn't hear them. Carina, however, was pretty determined that her two favorite people were going to get to know each other.
They were supposed to have dinner at Carina's, but her stove had stopped working the day before so they had relocated to Maya's. Carina had come over around 3, just as Vic was getting ready to leave.
"Where's Maya?" Carina asked as she walked in, finding Vic in the kitchen filling her backpack with snacks and water bottles.
"She's in her room," Vic said, "She went on like a two hour run after work today. She got back like an hour ago. I just heard the shower turn off like five minutes before you got here."
Carina nodded, setting down the grocery bags in the kitchen.
"Well, I'm out," Vic said, "Time to go spend the next day with crazy high school kids hopped up on caffeine, sugar, and show tunes."
"Have fun," Carina smiled, "We will see you tomorrow night."
"See you then," Vic called, "Have fun with Andrew."
"Grazie," Carina said as Vic left.
After putting a few things in the fridge, she went down the hall into Maya's bedroom. She found Maya wrapped in a towel laying on the bed.
"What's going on Bambina?" Carina asked, sitting down next to her.
"Just trying to convince my body to get up," Maya said, staring at the ceiling.
"A two hour run is a lot," Carina said, shaking her head.
"It's not just the run," Maya sighed, still staring.
"Is having Andrea over tonight making you anxious?" Carina asked, running her fingers through Maya's wet hair.
"A little," Maya admitted, nodding, "I'll be ok. I'm just scared I'm not going to make a good impression and he is going to hate me and it is going to make everything harder for you."
"Bambina, he is not going to hate you," Carina said, shaking her head, "He knows I love you, so he will love you too. He is doing a lot better now. His meds are balanced and he is much more himself."
Maya nodded, finally breaking her stare at the ceiling and looking at Carina.
"Come on," Carina said, leaning over and giving Maya a small kiss, "Get dressed. We have pasta to make."
Maya nodded as Carina helped her sit up, the blonde going to get clothes while Carina went into the kitchen. Maya came back out ten minutes later dressed in a t-shirt and yoga pants.
"I'm going to change before Andrew gets here," she said as Carina looked over at her, "I just know that cooking is messy and I don't want to get my nice clothes covered in flour."
"Bambina, you do not have to dress up for my stupid little brother," Carina said, laughing as she shook her head, "He will not care."
Maya just shrugged, walking over to the counter. Soon enough, Carina was showing her how to make lasagna noodles.
