Troubles

Alex. Kara. Sam. Ruby. 'Winn'. J'onn. Lena. 'Eliza'. Maggie.

(Lena's POV)

Kara convinced me to do the stupid NG tube and it's uncomfortable as fuck. Me and Kara are curled up on the bed in my med room watching a movie and I keep pulling at the tube. Kara pulls my hand away from my nose.       (a/n Each member of the family have their own room plus there are extra rooms.)

Stop touching it you're almost done.       She whispers. Ruby came into the room with us 45 minutes ago and has fallen asleep snuggled up to me.

It's itchy.          I whisper back moving my hand back to my nose. 

Lee you've only got about 5 more minutes left.      Kara whispers moving my hand again.

Let's stick a tube up your nose, down your throat, and into your stomach and see how you like it.    I harshly whisper at her my natural Irish accent really coming through but she doesn't seem fazed by it. She takes a deep breath and speaks.

I know you don't like it but it's just a few more minutes and then we can go home.

I grumble.

How about this: if you stop pulling at the tube we can go to the bookstore and get you as many books as you want?

You do know I could buy myself a bookstore, right?

Yes but that would take time and I know there are some new books you've been wanting to read since you've already gone through the 45 we bought last week when we took Ruby to the bookstore.         (a/n Lena can read 40,000 words per minute and Ruby can read 15,000 words per minute)

I huff.        As many as I want?         I question

As many as your heart desires baby.    She says kissing my forehead.

Fine but you're paying.

I was already going to.

We lay there for about 30 more minutes. The NG tube finishing after about 7 and we just stayed until the movie we were watching finished. When the credits start rolling on my laptop Kara gets up.

Alright I'm gonna go get Alex.   She says as she walks out. She comes back 5 minutes later with Alex in tow.

Oh that's where Ruby went.

You didn't know where your child was?

It's the DEO, every agent in here knows that if anything happens to my daughter they all get fired.   She says with a shrug. She walks over to me and looks at the bag hanging on the IV pole. Since I still had the IV in she had put the bag that would connect to the NG tube on the IV pole.   Well it looks like you're all done.

Great can we take this thing out now?

Yeah hold on let me just get some gloves.   She walks to get gloves and while she does that I carefully move Ruby so that I can sit up.     Ok when I count to three take a deep breathe in through your mouth and hold it, k?    I nod    OK. One. Two. Three.     I take a deep breathe and hold and she pulls the tube out me coughing after it's out.

I look at Kara and say

You owe me books.         I say with a pout.

I know baby.     She smiles softly at me.
