Chapter 22: The Akatsuki Strikes First

Back in the village a few days earlier, Sasuke was out in the forest training with his Chidori since he was limited to only four shots pr. day which annoyed him, he wanted to increase that amount while also increasing the amount of chakra he possessed. He was still irritated over the fact that he had lost against Gaara while Naruto had completely beaten him, it was so frustrating since no matter what he did or how he trained, it always seems to be a shortcoming from those two. If he didn't gain power as it was then what could he ever do to avenge his family by killing his brother, the mere thought of Itachi caused Sasuke's Sharingan to activate and he quickly formed hand seals and the Chidori was forming in his right hand. Letting out his anger and frustration through his attacks, he sprinted straight up to the nearby boulder and slammed his Chidori into it causing it to be punctured like a mere piece of paper. He followed up by slamming his fist into the boulder as well and thereafter started just punching it with all of his might. He was feeling so hopeless, useless... powerless, that word circulated in his mind again and again until he had had enough. Quickly turning back, he started running towards the leaf to get a hold of Kakashi, he wanted to get some tips that he could utilize to get stronger. When he arrived at Kakashi's house all he saw was four johnin standing around Kakashi's bed with him lying flat on the floor barely conscious. He blurted out what the hell was going on, but no one was answering his question, suddenly another johnin came bursting into the room.

(Random Johnin) "Is it true that Itachi came back and defeated Kakashi and that they're after Naruto!?"

Everybody froze when the words left the guys mouth, Sasuke was completely frozen in place simply looking down on the ground with his Sharingan now blazing in fury. Instead of asking questions to the johnin he simply stormed out of the room and down into the street at full speed, within a minute he arrived at Naruto's apartment and slammed the door open revealing no one home. He started wrapping his brain around where the hell he could be and found the answer when seeing a woman on the street carrying a bowl of ramen. Sasuke ran as fast as he could down to Ichiraku and called out his question of the old man behind the desk, he told him that Naruto and Dom had left the village along with Lord Jiraiya to search for the next Hokage's location. He quickly got a description out of the old man and stormed out of the shop and headed towards the east gates. He stormed past the guards and immediately took to the trees heading in the direction Ichiraku had pointed out to him, a couple of hours later he arrived at the first town and started asking around at every inn that he thought they could be staying at. A couple of hours later he found the hotel where they had been staying for the first day and asked about them. The lady behind the counter told him where they were headed and he immediately headed out, around midnight his body couldn't hold it anymore and he found a small cave which he crawled into so he could sleep for now.

The next day he awoke late and cursed himself for it while heading towards then next village, later that day he arrived at the town and sprinted around once again to find them, but still with no luck since he had awoken later due to last night's fatigue it was already starting to near the afternoon. He found the right hotel and got his information before heading out once again towards a larger city in the south where they were currently heading too...

Dom and Naruto had simply bowed their heads in shame of their master's behavior and left for the room, they unpacked their stuff and Naruto jumped straight onto the bed preparing to go to sleep. Dom on the other hand was slightly hungry and picked out a black jacket with white fur around the throat and neck part. He looked at Naruto who didn't seem to want to go, so he just announced his departure and left the room in silence.

After walking around the nearby streets for 10 minutes he found the local ramen stand where he went to eat something, it was a lot slower than Ichiraku ramen so when he finally got the bowel, he wasted no time chowing it down and quickly asked for another round. This continued for 5 times until Dom suddenly felt three enormous chakra signals near the hotel with one of them belonging to Naruto. When he concentrated his senses some more he also felt Sasuke's chakra which was slowly fading, in one move he was out of the shop and dashed at full speed back to the hotel. Suddenly he heard a massive crash coming from the hotel and sped up as much as he could, when he arrived he could see that the top right part had been blown away. He was still confused and rushed into the hotel where people were scared. When he reached the floor where their room was located he saw Sasuke lying passed out against the wall with people tending to him. Dom was by his side in no time and gently pushed the bystanders to the side, he quickly assessed the injuries and concluded three broken ribs, some internal bleeding along with fractures and his left wrist was broken. Without a word he drew blood and summoned Ragnar who was slightly confused until he noticed Sasuke and the destroyed parts of the hotel. Immediately he understood and got down on the floor so Dom could place Sasuke on his soft fur to relax. Dom got back up and looked to the stairs as Jiraiya came sprinting and stopped right next to Dom to look at the ruined hotel floor. Suddenly they both sensed another large chakra spike and this time it was the nine tails chakra causing both shinobi to rush out of the broken floor and land on the ground before going towards the chakra signature full speed.
