Chapter 21: Aftermath Of The Invasion

It had been 1 week after the attack on Konoha, and repairs were coming along nicely, Dom was sitting in his room fuming about what he had heard earlier that day.

Flashback:

The day after the invasion it had been announced that old man Hiruzen was officially gone from this world which had hit the villagers and ninjas hard. Word had begun to spread that Naruto had gone berserk during the attack and caused the destruction of the eastern gate that had been torn down by the three headed snake that Naruto defeated. It was all thanks to those gate guards who ran away from duty when they saw Naruto encaged in his red chakra, 6 days later the council called him in for a meeting since the Hokage couldn't anymore. The blame of much destruction had been cast onto Naruto who had been sentenced to having his ninja license temporarily suspended while also being charged to clean up the mess at the gates. When Dom heard about it from one of the villagers, he immediately went to confront Naruto about it and when he found him he was sitting in a corner looking sad and angry at the same time. At that moment Dom lost all respect for the council and decided to help out Naruto with his sentence as much as he could, even if it wasn't much, Dom could see on Naruto's expression that it meant the world to him. Like that, it was like their bond had advanced from best friends to brother's not connected by blood and it had made Dom happy.

End Of Flashback:

Dom looked up into the sealing where the patterns of a forest had been painted by himself; it was a forets that represented the home of Ragnar who had told him of the place. Someday he would travel to that place and meet the forgotten race of star wolves in person, he shifted his eyes from the sealing and out to the dark clouds covering the sky. He walked over to his closet and picked out a black bodysuit and put his leaf headband around his waist. Dom opened the door and walked outside where he saw Naruto on his way as well, together they walked towards the Hokage tower where everybody in the village were heading. Today was the day of the great funeral for all those who died in the attack and even if Naruto was hated by everyone, the council had allowed him to participate in the ceremony. They walked up the many stairs and joined the other rookie 9 alongside their teachers, Naruto got many hateful glares from surrounding ninja. But all of them quickly stopped when they saw the piercing eyes of Dom as to tell them that if they even tried it then he would personally add them to the number of casualties here.

As the ceremony progressed along, a sudden dark cloud took over the skies and began sending small droplets of water raining down as if even the heavens were crying. Dom remembered the first time he met old man Hiruzen who had such a mild and friendly smile, over the years he had become like a grandfather to Dom and Naruto. This caused a single tear to start forming in each of their eyes and slowly make its way down their cheeks until they fell off of their chins. Naruto wasn't doing so hot though since he had been a lot closer to the old man than Dom had been which was clearly evident in both his reaction as well as colder attitude whenever he became distraught.

Apart from that small incident, the rest of the ceremony went on without issues and in the end it was time for Naruto to get to repairing the eastern gate.

Dom and Naruto made a quick trip home to change into their ninja clothes before heading out to the gate. When they arrived there Dom could see Naruto's frustration and Dom could understand when looking at the mess in front of them. Both of them made 200 shadow clones with 10 from each of them going to the leaf library to read up on how to construct a gate and wall. The rest of the clones began cleaning out the rubble to make place for the rebuilding process to begin, after half a day of studying, the 20 clones at the library dispelled and the knowledge went back to the original and remaining 380 clones. Dom immediately sent half of his clones out to gather stone, wood and also told them to make it ready for transport. He gave one of the clones a long list of everything needed along with a sealing formula meant to be a reverse summoning Jutsu that could transport anyone from the gate and over to whatever area the clones were working at.
