(Name) lied on her bed and stared at the ceiling with tired eyes. She never realized how sick she was of the now weekly attempts as she closed her eyes. It was a normal thing in her life, she tried to soothe herself.
But this time, something just felt so... different. Like a storm's awakening slowly and making its way towards the gradually falling asleep girl.
In the meantime, an employee of the attempt section cleaned up the rests of the previous session. Many people related with this issue didn't really know about the wherefores and only did their job as they were told. Who wouldn't want to work for a well-esteemed man? Yet, none of all mentioned people could know what was coming next.

"Lightning, is there a place in the library you think you'll find something?" Ryuji and his master currently made their way towards the elevator and the young man had already made up his mind about what could be going on. Ryuji Suguro wasn't called intelligent for nothing.
"I know I'll find something, Ryuji." Lightning didn't speak much on their short way down to the library and soon they stepped into the now familiar marble ruins of the True Cross Library. "Make sure to be quiet."
Bon did as told and followed his master, choosing his steps carefully. They went past (Name)'s empty drawing table and gazed at it from the corner of their eyes, not daring to say anything. It didn't surprise the young exorcist that Lewin went towards the unilluminated aisle the girl walked out some time ago.
"This could get uncomfortable, but I guess you're already used to that since you're working with me, aren't you?" Lightning turned around a last time to give his apprentice a wink before he turned around the doorknob of the metallic door in front of them. Ryuji didn't notice his mouth had run dry.
To Lewin's surprise, the usual bright ray of light didn't greet his face - today's trial must have ended then, the room was illuminated with normal lamps - but to his delight, a worker was inside and stared at the two of them in disbelief. How could someone come back here like they own the place?
"Excuse me, but you two have no authorisation to be he-"
"Oh, I don't want to hear that from somebody who probably hasn't even an idea of what's happening in here." The Arc Knight stepped into the cold designed room and immediately sprinted towards the cleaner. Bon eyed his surroundings and the soft stains of blood that were scattered around the room gave him a really bad feeling - just what happens in here?
"Tell me, since when have you been working here?" Lightning put one hand on the worker's shoulder and made it perfectly clear he wasn't here to play games.
"Erm, er-," they stammered, "I've cleaned up this place for the past 6 months I think. I went for the job because of the good payment."
Whack.
Ryuji closed his eyes as Lewin gave the worker a hard slap across the face. "Where can I find your superior?" Lightning's voice was unusually stern. The employee rubbed their cheek as they stared at the male in shock. "I think they're in their housing, sir!"
And so, Lewin Light and Ryuji Suguro left the room without saying another word and the image of that white, yet so dark chamber had already been burnt deeply into the boys mind. God, why did there have to be blood?

The Chief Librarian sat in his office as he always did at this time of day. The man was replying to letters from the main branch in silence and swiftly swung around his writing feather as he answered each of them carefully. He wouldn't want to waste any of his precious time on them too much, though. It was in that moment when his assistant bursted into the room like never before. "My dear Mr. (Last Name), there are two intruders who insist on coming her-," but he got already shoved aside by a particular Mexican man.
Sir (Last Name)'s eyes widened at his sight and instantly narrowed as he also espied an exorcist exwire standing behind him. "Lightning, you haven't showed up in a long time." He put down his writing utensil and stood up, pushing his chair towards the table. Strange yellow light was shining into the room out of a huge window behind the man.
"Have you increased the amount of experiments with your daughter?" Lewin walked towards the man with threatening atmosphere radiating from his body. "Say, have you?" He grabbed him by the collar and Suguro could only watch the scene from afar, the pieces of a grotesque puzzle slowly getting themselves together in his mind. He almost wanted to interrupt, as suddenly a troubled female voice emerged from behind him.
"Hey, what's going on he- Ryuji?"
Said boy stared at his female friend with wide eyes - she must have slept until now since she looked extremely tired and also wore her (favourite/colour) nightgown. Pretty outdated a bystander would say, but in the eyes of Ryuji the loose fit of this piece just matched her perfectly.
(Name) peeked into the room and gasped out loudly as she saw Lewin threatening her father. But before the girl could even run towards the two men, Bon put up his arm to hinder her from getting too close.
"Ouch, Ryuji, let me through!"
"I can't let you through, do you even have an idea of what's going on?" His tone was rough, yet caring.
This definitely caught the girl off-guard, but nonetheless she got slightly angry at his behaviour. "I don't know, but do you have the right to mingle with my life?" Bon scoffed out as he now grabbed both of the girl's shoulders. "I probably don't have, but if it's for your own sake, Lewin and I will do everything to turn it for the better!" His grip on her shoulders tightened. "Exorcists are responsible for helping people if it includes demons and this is no exception!"
Laughter could be heard and both of the teenagers turned their head towards the older men, one of them snickering in amusement. "Exorcists aren't just simply responsible for helping people, you naive boy! It is important for us to research everything and any anomaly that occurs in this field. For her that is, too!" He pointed towards his daughter and chills ran down on the backs of every other person in the room.
"Did you just call me an anomaly?!" Tears formed in the girl's eyes and something in Ryuji's heart almost shattered while watching this scene.
"Repulsive!"
"Stop, father!"
"Your birth was just a great disappointment and nothing else, (Name)."
To nobody's surprise, Lewin threw a punch which was followed by a hard kick in the man's poplits. The Arc Knight sat down on the now immobilised old man and whispered words into his ear Suguro and (Name) didn't even want to hear. They just wanted this to be over as quick as possible.
The girl brought up her hands towards her face and slowly started crying. Bon was somewhat overwhelmed with this situation and decided it would be for the best if he just hugged her. This gesture was greatly appreciated by the neglected girl as she continued crying in his strong and caring arms. Just how could some people be so nice and some so cruel - it just wouldn't get into her head.
