Walking around the darkened corridors of the college grounds after hours terrified Alec in such a way that he was unsure whether he should have even accepted the offer from Magnus.

With a deep shaky breath he peeked behind the heavy door to the backstage. Eyes wide in both fear and curiousity his feet managed to scuttle from the door and he hid in the shadows of a curtain rail. From box to box he slid until the group of people where in view, stood in a circle on the stage.

He didn't know many of them there, a few he had seen whilst passing in the corridors or in the cafeteria queue but that didn't mean he wanted to speak to any of them.

They were planning a performance, he knew that much, but that was all he did know. Mr Stightein and Magnus were the only real people he had held a conversations with – and even then it was a one-time thing which just so happened to get him into this mess.

Yesterday during the music lesson they had bust into the classroom he was in and request to talk and with some hesitation he did however it wasn't a talk about “being in trouble” but becoming a duet with the tall guy in glitter. Apparently the guy was called Magnus ( which was believable ) but that no other piano plying student would perform the music for him which wasn't believable.

He was tall, dark haired, his eyes were dark yet in the correct lighting alive with gold flickering through them and his body was carved perfectly. How could someone turn a duet with him down?! Alec had no clue and had stayed silent almost too long so when he blurted out “me?!” he had to regain his composure and add “yes of course.” A small snigger was heard he was unsure which of them had made the noise, his mind made a pretty good guess though. But that was the only conversation he had held with them.

Alec's lightning blue eyes pierced the darkness and a blonde girl in the circle had noticed him. Once the small meeting of participants was over she made her way into the shadows. His feet fumbling over several props he couldn't help but fall clumsily onto the hard floor.

At least I'm hidden down here.

He thought to himself aloud and didn't realise he had spoken the words and swallowed when the blonde appeared in front of him and offered a helping hand.

“So you were hiding from me?” She demanded an answer, it was clear in her voice. Despite the fact she was trying to whisper like he did it still held a booming effect which notified the whole room of her presence. Alec took her hand and brushed himself off.

He stuttered. “N-no.” To which she rolled her eyes and grabbed each side of his jacket pulling them closer. Her closed fists meant he couldn't escape her grasp.

“At least let me give you a reason to stutter.” The blonde requested but before he could tell her otherwise she had pressed her lips to his. He knew from previous experiences that kissing girls felt nothing more than kissing a dog. Her tongue was something of a muscular eel, sloppy and wet.

She pulled away, as a he couldn't due to her hold on him, at the sound of high heels and a clearing out of a throat. Alec couldn't see the figure stood behind him but he could feel his intense starring and smell the sweet perfume that lingered wherever he walked. It was his partner, Magnus.

She let him go and folded her arms across her chest. Before she could get a word in edge wise he snapped quickly and fairly violently. “Is he your partner? No? Then walk on.” The way he was holding back an insult was pure legendary and required expert skill.

Alec turned on the heel of his sneakers to see the figure behind him. The sleeve of his jacket wiped away the saliva the girl had left while his eyes travelled up to meet that of the tall one.

“H-hi.” Alec stuttered again. What was wrong with him today!

“Hi? I picked you out of all the other pianists and your first word to me is hi?” It was then Alec questioned the teachers previous statement. Magnus had picked him? Wht did that mean? Alec had no clue but why would he. It wasn't like he starred at Magnus the way Magnus starred at him. It wasn't like he listened to Magnus' voice even when he was stood at the other end of the room like Magnus did to him. It wasn't like he pictured impossible scenarios of them together at the cinema or doing something normal because that only happens when you have a crush on the someone the way Magnus had a crush on him.

“You picked me?”

“Never mind, we need to pick a song for you to play and me to sing to. I was thinking John legend considering it works well with the songs the others are playing.” He took in a deep breath and waited for the reply of the blue eyed boy in front of him.

With a small nod Alec agreed and looked over towards the piano situated in the corner of the stage. “How many people will we performing in front of?” He questioned calmly whilst his heart was racing a thousand miles a minute for stage fright was something ever real.

“About 2OO people, the whole year group minus the lower set.” But if you want you could just play for me. No. He couldn't say that to him, Alec would think he were crazy.  The look in his crushes face was one he saw often – an attempt at hiding fear. He wanted to tell him it would be great but they did only have two days to practise before the finale was upon them.

It was now the night of the performance and they were both waiting backstage; Alec nervously and Magnus not so nervously. Alec was dressed in a outfit consisting of smart trousers, a shirt and a dickie bow tie while Magnus was wearing what he classed as a “casual” attire.

Straightening out Alec's dickie, Magnus gazed down into his blue eyes but looked away quickly for he didn't want to seem strange but he couldn't help internally compliment how much it suited his pale complexion and dark hair.

“Good luck.” Alec half whispered, in a minor state of stage fright which he hoped would fade as soon as his fingers ran across the keys and the music began to flow.

“Good luck to you too.” Magnus returned the wish and added with a mocking grin. “Mess up and i'll murder you.” A smile tugging at the corners of Alec's mouth he looked down but nodded. Alec felt a hand lift his chin up then fingers anchor themselves behind his ear. “Oh and one more thing…” Was all he heard before the press of soft lips tasting of mint were against his. The kiss was quick yet it held more passion than he had felt in any other moment of his existence. His scent, his lips, him. Alec was spinning and no longer felt the spike of anxiety in the pit of his stomach.

“Let's hope you play as good as you kiss.” Magnus winked then marched on stage. He must have missed the calling of their names in the ‘now welcome onto the stage’ but he didn't mind. Not when he had just experienced what he had. His first male kiss – and he adored it, admired it and loved it. He had the inspiration to perform like nothing else mattered tonight. And so he would.
