Alec's POV
It was the first time I had cleaned a wound of Magnus’, and strangely enough, I love it, the feeling of pride that rushes through my veins when thinking harder enough about it. I am healing him for once, not the reverse. I liked taking care of him. Magnus was usually the more careful one but the latest fight with demons saw me nearly dying if Magnus hadn’t have jumped in the way and gotten hit for me.The first time I had given him stitches, the hit was from a flaming glass bottle thrown towards my head but due to my warlock being tall and in heels it only hit his shoulder. I used tweezers to carefully pull out the glass and clean up the blood with gentle hands, but my hands were shaking badly because it’s him. I couldn’t mess this up. But He just looks at me with these huge, sparkling cat eyes and says, “I trust you, Alexander,” and just like that, my hands stop shaking and I stitches up the gash perfectly.
Maybe it was his words that fixed it, or the feeling that rushed through me when he said my full name. I gently kissed the edge of his injured shoulder, making it all better like a mother to a child. But of course that wasn’t good enough for Magnus.
He kisses each of the healing runes upon my arms that Jace had drawn before letting me go to heal my warrior. His eyes peek at me like a predator watching its prey. Leaning forward, hearts colliding, anticipation gathering alongside the sweat in my palms then finally eyes close. Distance shortens.
His breath against my neck tickles me but only drives me crazy. He always knew how to lead up to this, it made the whole experience so much more unforgettable; like I would forget any of his kisses. Magnus pressed his lips against mine and then we’re positively devouring each other’s mouths.
The kiss says safety and love and home and it becomes a habit, kissing after a hunt, just to make sure that we are both in one piece. If we’re kissing, it means that everything is going to be okay.
You see, we always belonged. Not to a place or anything as normal as a house is, no. Nothing irremovable, nothing we couldn’t take with us. We always belonged to each other.
