Alec have never been good at anything DIY, he tried and he tried but it never seemed to work out. For example, when back at the institute one of the metal door handles had broken from the door and upon trying to fix it managed to bend the handle and yank the door from it's hinges. Least to say he wasn't the best at handy work.
But Magnus was. Alec believed it had something to do with his magic, that he used it to fix the miscellaneous objects that either of them or chairman managed to smash or brake, however Magnus declared that he did it all by hand - every time too with no exceptions.
It was around 1pm when Magnus left to cook up some form of spell for the vampires, he hated working with them but they paid well and he and Alec needed a new bed after last nights activities.
Unlike his partner, the shadowhunter wanted to try and fix the wooden frame before buying a new one and had a pile of tools and nails, bolts and screws he had "borrowed" from Jace without him knowing waiting to be used.
With a nail in one hand and a hammer in the other he had lined up two pieces of the wooden frame at the corner and began trying his best to mend the wreckage.
After an hour or so Alec had several bruises upon his fingers and thumbs from being clumsy and accidentally hitting his hand but the bed was looking better with each of the four corners fixed - however fragile and weak they may now be.
Wiping his jet black hair out of the way and sliding off his beloved sweater Alec trudged into the kitchen for a drink and to add a few healing runes to his hands. The bed was almost finished. He thought with a proud smirk. Wait 'til Maggie hears about this.
//
With a deep breath and a "pheww" Alec had finished. Yes it looked different to the original look but whoever said broken things couldn't be fixed had clearly never seen his soul.
He believed like himself, everything can be fixed. No matter what the condition.
The pushing open of the door meant his warlock was home again. Finally.
"Sweetheart?" Magnus asked with an arched, glittery brow. His eyes were looking at Alec with such questionable eyes they were hard to miss.
"Yes?" Alec replied, biting down upon his lower lip which he knew drove the man across the room crazy beyond belief. With a smirk hiding in the corners of his lips and his blue eyes wild with excitement, he couldn't keep up the i-know-nothing-what-so-ever ruse.
"I fixed the bed!" He grinned from ear to ear and glanced backwards towards the bedroom door. "Come see?" With a roll of his eyes the warlock obliged and they both slipped through the door and into their room.
It started as a smile which turned into a small chuckle, then a laugh until Magnus was almost crying. Alec looked up at him with an irritated facial expression.
His upcoming question was valid yet made his feelings clear. He wasn't happy considering he had worked all day on this project. "Is it not good enough for you?"
"No, no, no, no." Magnus began and swaddled his loving partner into a warm embrace. His lips were close to Alec's as he whispered. "It's amazing, but considering what i want to do to you - will it hold up?" He then pulled back and winked.
What had Magnus planned for him? Alec felt the acid in his stomach began to bubble at the sheer fear and excitement of this new ideal. His eyes were alight like the hottest bright blue flame and showed no intent of going back now.
"Let's find out..."
