8: Holidays And Reunions

Thomas entered his dorm on Marinette packing her bags.

"And where are you going for the holidays?"

Marinette put a red gown in her suitcase and stood up. "Home, where else. Why, where are you going?"

"Uhhh"

"Oh Cmon, you're not going home?"

Thomas sat down on his bed which was full of Marinette's clothes. "Uh, what are these doing here?"

Marinette pointed at her side of the room. "It's full."

Thomas sighed. "Look, I'm not so close with my parents. My father died when I was 13 and my mom had been so distant. I'm not that thrilled to go back."

Marinette tried to hold her laugh in. "Dude, you got the same story as Adrien but reversed. His mom died or disappeared and his father has been so distant. Hey you can come with me to visit my family, they're cool."

Thomas smiled. "Maybe, I'll think about it."

Marinette opened Adrien's dorm and saw him on his bed, suitcase still needing to be packed.

"Adrien! Where flying in two days!"

"Chill Mari, i can pack tomorrow." Adrien said not looking up from his laptop.

Marinette went to sit next to Adrien on his bed. "This is gonna be so weird going back."

Adrien stopped what he was doing on his laptop and looked at Marinette. "Why would you say that?"

"Without Nino?"

Adrien's face became pale. "O- oh ye- yeah. I forgot. I- I need some fresh air."

"Adri-" Adrien banged the door and ran outside the school campus. Amber entered her dorm and saw Marinette.

"Hey, uh what was that about?"

Marinette sighed and plopped on Adriens bed. "I talked about Nino."

"Oh.."

"Yeah." Marinette layed on his bed. "I'm telling you, he's gonna refuse to go back to Paris for Christmas. All because of me."

Amber went to sit next to her. "Hey, it's not your fault. It just slipped out, didn't it? And besides, I can come with you if Adrien refuses." Amber winked.

Marinette groaned. "Ughhh, but I promised Thomas I'd take him."

"So? I can crawl in your suitcase." they both chuckled. "No but seriously, I'll drag him with you. I know you love him!"

Marinette got red. "What? I- I do not!"

Amber raised an eyebrow. "Yes, you do. I saw how you look at him."

"You're full of shit Amber."

"Oh cmon, you said it yourself. You loved Adrien but then you threw away your feelings to focus on your studies. Now miss Gonzalez likes you. Focus yourself on love!"

"Says the lesbian in front of me that doesn't even dare tell Mia they like her."

"Wha-"

"Don't play stupid. You love her and everyone knows it."

Amber looked away. Oh you're so wrong. The only girl I love is in front of me.

Marinette had to literally drag Adrien to the airport because he refused to spend the holidays without his best buddy.

And of course, Marinette blamed herself for that. Because she brought up his death in the first place.

"He is very heavy for a model." Amber said dragging his feet to the gate.

"I'm not heavy." Adrien whined. Even though he didn't want to go back, he kinda missed his father. Adrien forgave him. For everything

In the end, Gabriel cared for him.

"We're here! Drop him."

"Wha- wai-" without hesitation Amber and Thomas dropped Adrien on the hard Airport floors.

Adrien rubbed his head. "Ow!"

Marinette winked. "Next time, don't whine."

"Yeah, I'll keep that in mind. Let's see if I don't have a concussion first."

"Marinette!"

"Hi mom, dad." Marinette took Thomas and Amber a lite closer. "These are my friends. Amber and Thomas."

"Welcome. They will be staying with us?"

Marinette nodded. She turned to Adrien who was behind her looking around sad. "

"Oh, and I'm sorry for your loss, both of you."

Adrien looked up. "Oh, thank you Mrs Cheng." Sabine smiled.

"Marinette!" Alya ran up to Marinette and the two best friends that haven't seen each other for four months hugged each other. They broke it off after a few seconds and Alya turned to Adrien.

He was on the verge of bursting into tears. Alya gave Adrien a big and long hug. They both were crying on each other's shoulder.

After they broke it off, he smiled. "How are you Alya?"

She chuckled. "Not good. I was In London when Mr. Agreste called me saying that they found Nino in a car accident. I flew right back to Paris."

Marinette approached them. "And your studies?"

Alya sighed. "Gave them up."

"Wha- why?"

"I have it on my consciousness. He pleed for me not to go and I went anyway. If I stayed, maybe he'd still be here."

Marinette hugged her hazel haired friend. "Als, it's not your fault. Please don't blame yourself."

Alya burst into tears. "He was the only guy I ever loved and now he's gone!" Adrien and Marinette were comforting Alya.

Everyone had it difficult with the loss of Nino. But no one thought to check up on the one person hurt most.
