15: Arguments

Marinette was back form her lover hunt with Amber that turned into a failure.

"Who knew that the guys here were such nerds." Amber said, looking at floor.

"Excuse me?" Thomas turned in his bureau chair.

Marinette rolled her eyes. "Except you."

Thomas smiled. "Thank you. So you really didn't find anyone?"

"No. And the girls here are all lesbians who already have a girlfriend."

Amber chuckled. "Except me, haha. I'm a lesbain.....without a girlfriend."

Marinette patted on her shoulder. "You feel single, don't you."

"Yes." Amber said, putting her head on Marinette's shoulder. Marinette could take a closer look at Amber's eyes. They were brown with sparkles in them. They were so pretty.

"Amber look at me."

Amber turned to Marinette and she grabbed Amber's head.

Adrien was alone in his dorm. He drew a sketch of how'd he ask her out. She was single, he was single, it was perfect. He grabbed his coat and went to Marinette's dorm.

He opened Marinette's dorm room and there she was.

Kissing Amber.

His heart fell in pieces. He was too late. He knew Amber would torture him with this.

Marinette broke the kiss off and Amber was shocked. She turned around and saw Adrien looking like he was about to cry. "Adrien!"

"You- you're together?" he tried to fake his smile. Marinette saw right through it.

"Is there something you need to tell me?"

"I- I- I love you."

Marinette scoffed. "You like me? And now you tell me? Idiot that you are!"

Adrien stood there awkwardly. "W- what?"

"I have been in love with you the moment you gave me that umbrella. I still have it. Why did you think I stuttered while talking to you? I had so many attempts to tell you! But then of course, something came in between. Then when-"

She turned around and saw Amber and Thomas standing there. She sighed. "Then when I became the guardian it all became too much and I stopped, thinking I'd put everyone in danger. I still loved you back then! But now, that I lost all my feelings, you come jumping here telling me that you love me I- my head's a mess."

Thomas and Amber looked at each other.

Adrien got angry. "You think I knew you loved me? No! My dad had my schedule full of all kinds of activities. You think I spend my time on who had a crush on me?"

"Literally the whole school had a crush on you."

"Was I supposed to know that my best friend had a crush on me."

"N- no! You're too late! You had to tell me when I still had feelings."

"Oh yeah, easy said. You try to live your life with Chloe jumping on you every single time you try to breathe."

"Those are fucking excuses!"

"You think? I did try to live my life but a: controlling dad, b: I had Chloe as a friend. Oh yeah, those are excuses."

"You know what? Fucking fuck you!" Marinette was already crying. "You're an asshole!"

Amber tried to calm Marinette down. "Ok, Marinette, chill. Thomas, you go and chill Adrien."

Thomas nodded and left with an angry Adrien. The door closed and she looked at Marinette. She broke down on Amber, crying. She could still hear Adrien cursing.

"Shh, it's okay."

"No, no it's not! I've spend those 4 years with him in my class. I had this massive crush on him. He viewed me as a friend. I tried so many times to try and tell him. But I stuttered the hell out of me. He never understood what I was trying to say."

Amber felt bad." Hey, you should talk to him. Tell him you're sorry, talk it out."

"And why me?"

Amber smiled. "Because you are then two kids fighting over a candy bar. Do you really want your 5 year long friendship to go away over an argument?"

Marinette smiled. "Thanks Amber."

Thomas closed the door. Adrien was still cursing at the door, ready to fight Thomas.

"Hey hey, chill. You're acting like a little kid."

"It's not my fault!"

Thomas raised eyebrow. Adrien sighed.

"Look, you gotta understand Marinette's part of the story too. You were new, you didn't had friends. You give her an umbrella when it rained. She fell for you. Now, of course she wouldn't be able to tell you. She's shy. And if this Chloe girl tortured her just because she liked you, then yeah, her confidence would like, drop to the floor."

Asrien remained silent. He never thought about it that way. He always thought of Marinette as this ongoing girl who befriended everyone. Was there something else he didn't knew about her?

"I think you should go talk to her. Be the man."

"Yeah. Yeah, maybe I should. She was very devastated."

Thomas nodded. "Go, before she kisses someone else."

Adrien rolled his eyes. Alright, let's win Marinette back.
