18: Worries

Marinette and Adrien took a cab to go to Marinette's parents. She looked out of the window and saw nothing bad on the outside. But everything was bad.

"Hey, you good?"

Marinette turned to Adrien and saw his worried face. There was no point in lying, they knew each other too long. "No. Nothing is good. Alya betrayed me, everyone may be in danger, and it may all be because I thought I could trust Alya with the miracle box."

"Hey hey hey, it's okay. Well fix all this."

"We will?"

Adrien nodded. "Were unstoppable." he winked. Marinette chuckled. She didn't know what she would do without her feline partner.

"A- Amber get out of bed."

"No!"

"Stop acting like a baby!" Thomas tried to pull Amber out of her bed with no luck. The girl is strong. 

Amber stopped fighting and looked at Thomas. Her hair was put on one side and her neck tattoo was visible. "You don't get it! The one girl I date and for which I'd do anything is gone to fight some friends that betrayed her and I can't do anything. And now she's 5,853 kilometres away. Maybe already dead."

"You don't know that-"

"Neither can you!" Amber sighed. "Just...just leave me alone."

"What, for you to mope in your room all day? No, we're gonna be productive today."

"Ughhh."

"Hey, don't you ugh me. It's not healthy to stay in your bed all day."

Amber sat up in her bed. "Adrien is rubbing off of you."

Thomas rolled his eyes. "C'mon, get up."

Amber groaned and got up. "Happy?"

"Thomas looked with disgust at her. "Oh lord. girly, we're in a fashion school but what you have on is a fashion catastrophe."

Amber looked at what she had on. "Wha- what is wrong with my clothes?"

Thomas raised an eyebrow and dived into Amber's closet and chose a Green Tie Front Crop Top and a matching pair of Green Trousers.

Thomas handed the clothes to Amber. "Here, takes this on."

"Alright, but get out. I don't want you looking at me."

"Amber, i've seen you naked already. Just turn."

Amber groaned, turned away from Thomas and put the clothes on. "What do you think." Amber turned around and showed Thomas.

"Damn girl, you're shining again. I missed that Amber."

Amber blushed. "Okay, so what do you have in mind?"

"Let's go party its." Thomas checked his wrist watch. "It's 8 pm. Let's hit the club."

"Oh- okay."

Adrien and Marinette were in her room and would stay there. It was 2 am so they really had to sleep.

"Okay, let me just call Amber."

"At 2 am?"

"It's 8 pm there. She isn't sleeping at that hour."

Marinette got up and tried to call Amber but she didn't pick up. She tried again and again, but she kept getting to Amber's voicemail.

"Fuck!"

"She's not picking up?"

"No and i'm starting to worry. Call Thomas, maybe he knows where she is."

"You must really love her."

"Well no shit Sherlock."

Adrien went to call Thomas but he didn't answer either."

Adrien turned to Marinette who had a worried expression on her face. "He didn't answer?"

Adrien shaked his head. Marinette started walking circles in her room. Adrien tried to calm Marinette down with no luck. Her anxiety went sky high.

"Marinette, check your breath. You're having a panic attack."

"Yeah- Yeah."

Adrien gave her a glass of water. "They probably can't pick up right now. They could be doing stuff and can't check their phones now."

"Yeah, i hope you're right."

Meanwhile Thomas and Amber were having the best time of their life in the club and left their phones in the locker because they didn't think people would call them.

"Oh!"

"What?"

"I have Mia's number. And Mia always knows where her friend is." 

Marinette called Mia who picked up. "Yeah?"

"Do you know where Amber is?"

"Uh yeah, she went with Thomas to a bar. Why?"

"Ohh, that's why they both didn't pick up."

"Well yeah. They usually leave their phones in the lockers at the bar."

"Okay, thanks Mia." Marinette hang up and smiled. "Now we can sleep."

"Finally!"

"Hey, i was worried!"

"Marinette, Amber is old enough to take care of herself."

"She's my girlfriend and i'm supposed to protect her. If I don't protect her, i failed."

"Being a hero doesn't mean to only protect your loved ones. That means to also protect the people around, the ones that support you."

"Can we sleep?"

"That speech meant nothing?"

Sabine came in Marinette's room, half sleepy, half angry. "If you two don't go to sleep now, you're grounded."

"We literally came here to stop Lila and Alya. You can't ground us."

"Even heroes get grounded. Go to sleep." Sabine left and closed Marinette's hatch door.

"So I guess we have to go to sleep." Marinette said trying to hold her laugh in. Adrien snorted and both of them went to sleep at 4 am.
